It has nothing to do with WOY, I was just on a Heyuri & paperweb/paperchan kick while deciding on the off topic tag :P

To understand /b/, you gotta know BBS & imageboards. They're forum websites usually dedicated to anonymity, and one of the important features is different boards within the BBS. Those boards are usually dedicated to specific topics, such as anime (often /a/), or Oekaki (web-doodles that were common in the old internet when BBS was also more common), but there was often a "Do Whatevs No Rules" type board, which was the /b/ board, AKA Off Topic.

Because /b/ was the Off Topic, I decided to use that tag for non-watchdog related stuff, like Lord Dominator using Signs Of Abuse infographics as checklists & answering asks that have no mention of watchdogs.

P.S. The most popular /b/ board is 4chan's /b/ board. Don't go there. It fell from whatever grace it once had, so now it's not only racist but also extremely unfunny and boring. It's not even "gross LULWUTZ gore and avant garde pervertedness", it's plain unpleasant. Actually, avoid 4chan altogether.
