All weekend long from June 5th, 6th, and 7th 2026 creators can work on any rpf fanworks (new or old) from wherever they are in the world. Work at your own pace and use our server to check-in and recharge when you need a little inspiration - or a reminder to hydrate!

Do we post our works during these dates?
This is not a requirement and there is no pressure to do so. This event is just about making progress creating something - fics, art, podfic, gifsets, etc. By the end of the weekend if you've completed something that you want to post that's great and the mods will happily share it once it's published!
What's with the beach theme? What if I don't want to write about that?
That's just our aesthetic for the retreat weekend. We're encouraging everyone to imagine themselves writing by a relaxing seaside with a fruity drink nearby. This doesn't mean your works have to be set at the beach or have anything to do with this theme at all. It's just a way to add some fun and whimsy to keep our monkey brains engaged. For example, I'm going to buy some pineapple juice to drink out of a fun glass while I write - but I've always loved committing to a bit and being a little weird whenever possible!
Is this a recurring event?
The server is committed to hosting at least two more retreats this year. I have already started planning for August and October's retreats (have the themes picked out and materials started) so they'll be happening no matter what. So if the June dates don't work for your schedule (or if you see this post after the event has past) you're still welcome to join the discord so you can be notified of the next retreat and vote in our polls to help choose which weekend should be next.
Maybe the retreats will become so popular we'll host one a month or brainstorm other types of events to host! And no matter our event status the server will be open to creators to share prompts and resources, ask for beta help, or post a freewrite in our Lightning Forum - a place to post when inspiration strikes and you want to share your ficlet in real time. Bonus: you choose whether to ask for audience suggestions or not.

yeah yeah opening a fic and "he would not fucking say that" but what about you open the fic and "he would fucking say that". what about that pure feeling of euphoria when it's exactly right the way you like it
anti rpf people are so funny they're always like "how would you feel if people shipped you with your friend" i don't know how to break it to you but if i was famous and no one was writing fanfiction about me i would be devastated. i wouldn't feel like i made it until i could search my name on ao3 and find 10k+ explicit results. peace and love though
Being crazy about a piece of media for any amount of time will leave a weird mark on you forever because years later you’ll see someone posting something about it like “can we talk about this frame” and you’ll be like “ah that frame. i know all about that frame. I was once a scholar of that frame.”
