Okay, so hear me out, shenanigans during ghost hunt? Yes. Full transparency, the reason for the dubious height difference is originally I meant this to kinda show Ryan maybe climbing into Shane’s lap during an Estes session, but I couldn’t quite figure out all the details so I was like, okay, you know what, whimsically abstract it is then!
Okay so I might even colour this at some point, but the time being I just wanted to get it out of my system cause the other day I drew Shane with chub and my brain gremlin had A Great Need.
Okay, please don’t cancel me, but some time ago I saw this post and it dawned on me that the Ghoulboys shared a house in Key West and like….I am sure something like this happened, i.e. shyan walking in on each other in various states of undress, hence the sketch. (I’m only mentioning the post above cause it has a pose I’d been wanting to draw, so I referenced it.)
Imagine visiting a video rental store in the 80s or 90s and pulling a VHS off the shelf to get inspiration for an rpf fanwork. For our August retreat we're inviting creators to travel back in time and pull inspiration from their favorite older movies.
We'll provide a letterboxd list to kickstart your ideas and a collaborative spotify playlist full of 80s and 90s music to set the mood! Our discord will also have bots to help motivate you with writing sprints and timers and a themed planner you can download to track your progress all weekend!
Note: Your August creations do not have to be from our list of movies or an AU at all. These ideas are there as prompts and to make a fun vibe for the weekend. You can work on any rpf fanworks, all genres and types, during the retreat.

What is a creator's retreat?
It's a multi-day event where you can create fanworks from wherever you are in the world with other creators. You can also choose to be as active as you want by participating in any or all of the days. Write for one day. Or draw all three days. The choice is yours!
Do I have to be writing to participate?
We welcome all creators - not just writers! You can be drawing, editing videos, making gifs, or recording podfics! But some of the guides and prompts for the event will be geared towards writers specifically so some tips might not apply to everyone.
Do I have to start something new?
Not at all! Dig out any rpf WIPs that you want to work on or need an extra push to finish.
Do we post our works during these dates?
This is not a requirement and there is no pressure to do so. This event is just about making progress creating something - fics, art, podfic, gifsets, etc. By the end of the weekend if you've completed something that you want to post that's great and the mods will happily share it once it's published! Please tag us in anything that the server helped you create so we can share it!
Will the event be for youtuber rpf only?
You are welcome to write for any rpf ships during the retreat but there will be lots of attention on Shyan, Standrew, Phan, etc. The server is open to all rpf but these are the most popular right now. We can make channels for other ships if they are requested.
What do I get for participating in the retreat?
Everyone who participates will get a custom server role and badge you can share! You'll also (hopefully) get to make progress on a new fanwork to post for everyone in your fandom to enjoy!
And not just because of the lights and the close quarters.
Shane can't stop staring at Ryan's exposed clavicle.
Ryan is telling some story about gelatinous blobs falling from the sky, but all Shane can focus on is the light shining off of the sharp jut of Ryan's collar bone.
He thinks about running his tongue over it, giving it a little nip.
He thinks about the gasp and moan Ryan would let out.
He thinks of Ryan's hand buried in his hair, tugging deliciously as he sucks a dark mark into that beautiful piece of skin.
He thinks of dropping to his knees, looking up-
"Shane, hello? Are you even listening?"
"Uh... Sorry, sorry, my mind must have wandered. Let's start from the top?"
When faced between shaving his mustache off for a Disney audition (because the character he was auditioning for was in college), or keeping it to film Weird and/or Wonderful World (because he had committed to having matching mustaches with Shane), Ryan chose to keep the godawful stash and thereby flunk the audition.
Never mind the fact that it was his dream to get into Disney. Ryan said he still chose Shane (and Watcher) because he made a commitment about facial hair with his best friend.
