I miss rainbow capitalism. I do. I miss when it felt like public opinion was still pro gay. I understand it was always an empty gesture, but it mattered in a sense of knowing how socially acceptable being queer is. If that makes sense.

Pretty sure the pendulum will swing back. This is not the new permanent state of things, as we have seen this kind of fascist resurgence before from a very vocal minority.

MOST straights don't think about queer people much at all, and when they do it's either neutral or positive. This time around, public opinion seems negative because it's been hijacked by loud assholes.

it really is one of those things where if the average american is not mad enough at the current state of things right now i have no idea what will get them to that point. american propaganda is so ingrained in this society that we are at a point where truly “the threat of communism” will always be enough of a threat that we are all slave to this system. and btw this affects the world the US economy being not great is a problem for everyone. 2-3 years ago was when i started commonly seeing the american sentiment of “i can’t afford to live why the fuck would i want to have a kid and i can’t buy a house” and now your seeing that from people from everywhere from Brazil to japan EVERYONE is fucked it’s a worldwide problem and it will only get worse when the AI bubble pops
