Clean water and sanitation

(WHO/UNICEF) Almost one billion people all over the world do not have clean water.

(WHO) Diarrhoeal diseases can be reduced 45% just by hygiene education and by promoting hand-washing.

(UN) With constant funding from international community, hygiene worldwide can be acquired in 1-2 decades.

About 17% of the world's population could not access healthy drinking water. This was increased to 22% in 1990.

Per 8 seconds, a child dies from a water-borne disease.

Water that has been labeled "natural" or "pure" went through basic filters that take out odors but not other contaminants.

      Another situation would be time management. Government officials are very busy each day and may have a hard time booking appointments. WaterCan has to be able to adapt with time changes and create schedules that is able to work for everyone. Whereas in universities and high school, it is also difficult because there are exams and cpts. On the other hand, principals or teachers could be unavailable due to meetings.

      Problems that WaterCan could've faced would be having to spread awareness. WaterCan is a worldwide charity and therefore would of had to advertise around the world because they are helping countries overseas. This could be costly because ads on television, radio or the news can reach as high as $1 million these days which would cause problems financially.

On Earth Day, AVEDA decided to celebrate with a Walk for Water. About 1,800 registered participants joined this walk and the event raised over $325,000. 890 million people worldwide do not have safe drinking water. This world water problem is one of the most severe health emergencies. For example:  in hospitals half of the hospital beds are used by those who have preventable water-related infections, every year children who are  under 5 years of age die from healthful living diseases, and because of these diseases many parents and children miss school and work. Poverty levels will begin to rise which will then cause another major problem economically.
