– It took Simon a few moments to really register the words that were being said to him. He wanted to argue with him more, he was fine, he had been through this before. It wasn’t new for Simon. He couldn’t explain it but, D.C. had been the same, the boroughs of New York were no stranger to Simon Reign’s ridiculous… Well, reign. He attracted chaos, the only reason he was in the Upper East Side this time was because there was a rich family that thought they could ‘reform’ a kid like him from Queens. “Okay, look, I’ve– I’m fine. This…” He gestured to the claw mark, “look, this is nothing, I’ve dealt with a lot worse. It hurts, yeah, but I’m fine, I can already feel myself healing so just– let me find a place to hide on my own, I don’t want to cause you guys any trouble.”
– But before he could do anything, Jesse was gone and he was left sitting on the edge of an alleyway. If they had it dealt with like they claimed, Simon figured he could relax a bit. He lifted up his shirt and looked up at the sun, wondering what exactly was going on. Everything in his life had aligned so weirdly, it felt like this was supposed to happen, he had dreams about this happening. Even visions of it all happening. Honestly, Simon just wanted to sleep at this point. He knew once he fell asleep, he’d either have been found by his social worker, or at least fully healed so he could go to his social workers office and explain he needed a new family.
– Just as Simon felt himself drifting off though, he saw bright orange out of the corner of his eye and looked up to see Jesse. “Oh. Hi.” He just gave the other a tight lipped smile, unsure of what else to do. He didn’t know what this guy was going to tell him, or do to him, or try to do to him, and he wasn’t interested in finding out either. Sure, he was attractive, but that wasn’t enough to sway Simon’s flighty self to stick around any longer than he had too. “If you guys are done, I’ll be going now, since uh– I obviously interrupted your field trip?” He hadn’t realized it until just now, but all the kids, every single last one of them… They were all wearing the same, bright orange shirt, with a blaring ‘Camp Half-Blood’ logo across the front.
With the amount of people that came to help, they had this monster killed in no time and Jesse was right back on Simon duty. Since he had talked to him previously, the other campers just assigned him to explain everything. He put a fake smile on for the male and shook his head. “Nah. You should probably come with us. It’s for your own safety really…unless you want to be attacked by monsters for the rest of your life.” Jesse mused. “I’ll explain on the way, come on.” He said, reaching his hand forward to help him up. “Don’t worry, I’m not a monster. I also promise I’m not a creep and there’s an explanation for all of this. Just hurry up, we don’t have all day.”
Once Simon was up, Jesse let go of his hand and turned to walk. “We’re part of a camp, which we’re taking you to.” he began explaining. “I don’t know anything about your life so I don’t know how much you do and you don’t know. All I was assigned to do was come get you and bring you back and tell you whats going on.” Jesse walked forward towards the rest of the group. “So basically, you’re a demigod. One of your parents is a Greek god and you have special powers and that’s why the monsters are after you. There’s a special camp for kids like us, we’re here to take you there.” He said. “That’s the short choppy version. If you don’t know who your God parent is, they’ll claim you once we reach the camp…usually. Like mine did. I got there when I was a kid and had no idea what was going on either. Campers came and got me and I’ve been there ever since. Trust me, it’s cool.” He looked over at Simon with a more genuine smile. “Oh, also…I’m Jesse.”
Jesse looked over the male in front of him once again and his eyes lingered for a bit before snapping out of it and turning his head forward and paying attention to where the group was going. He knew what he was but it wasn’t like he had ever been with a male before. He was comfortable with it but he for sure wasn’t ready to come out and let everyone in the camp know. Especially with some kid that they had just saved. They traveled for a bit longer, Jesse not really knowing what else to say to the male but he smiled when they finally reached the camp. “Welcome to Camp Halfblood, kid.”
