What if Feferi was a mermaid and Aradia was a fairy?

A moment of silence passes, the ripples passing and becoming still before…Splash!! The mermaid’s head bursts from the water with an eccentric toothy grin on display. “Heeeey!” Feferi waves to her alternate, tail splashing behind her with excitement. It’s not often she travels beyond the reef, after all!

Swimming closer, she gets just shallow enough that a full turn around is possible and she wont get beached. Through the clear pacific water, her shimmering pink scales reflect the light in a rainbow pattern. “What’s up?”

Feferi curtseyed once she was in good view of her mermaid alternate.

“Hi!” She greeted with a smile. “Wading for you, obviously!” She stuck her tongue before gasping. “Oh! The tv! I completely forgot. I mean, if you’re cool with it, we can just watch out here.”

“Of course, of course!” Feferi giggles at her alt’s joke, giving her a very goofy look. “Thats turtley fine! It’s naut reelly like I can go much of anywhere else, after all!” This is followed by another little laugh. “Unless you had some convoluted idea to get me up over there!”

With that, Feferi closes the conversation, searching around in her room a bit to try and find that transportalifier or whatever it’s called. Aha! She reaches back behind the coral shelf where she keeps her various knick knacks. It seems it had fallen back there when she had cleaned up earlier. Now to just remember how it works… She fiddles around with the machine for a little bit before finally figuring it out, entering the coordinates her alternate had given her and zapping off to the specified location.

Feferi heard a splash in the distance, and she stopped. She walked out to her second floor balcony and peered down, spotting a stirring in her waters. Given the security around her property, she was well aware of who it was. She alerted her wife, who seemed relaxed enough to not hide behind the residential door, but she did keep her distance.

Feferi hopped over the fence and landed into a section of bushes by her beach. Rising and dusting her clothes, she made her way over to her shore.

“Shello?” she called out.
