OoC: journey-of-the-voiceless contacted me a while ago about doing RPs and I realised that I haven’t done anything in so long. It’s time I got active again. If anybody would like to do something, let me know~ Time to get my butt active.
OoC: This is so excessively belated and I am SO terribly sorry, journey-of-the-voiceless! I am a huuuuuuge butt who just spent the last few weeks hunched over a sewing machine...
The low hum seems lost in an all too wide space. Something old whines and shrieks in broken falsehood, taken for sounds of sadness. It lies half buried in sand, forgotten from age long since past...forgotten until now.
A caring hand is lain over oddly cool stone as there sits a wayfarer by a crumbling guardian. Its light flickers and it moans with every attempt to move, but its broken body...It maybe viewed as nothing more than a statue. That thought never seems to cross the mind of the Journeyer, Yahn. The mournful yowls plucked at the cords of empathy in his being, so now he sits, face a picture of gentle care as he makes to calm the ruined beast.
His efforts may be fruitless, a small part of him is aware. It is hard to deny what is so engrained in one, however. It is so very difficult to turn away from what flows through. Moved by will alone to be here in this place, halted in his pilgrimage by his ever bleeding heart. He was not of stone. His soul was warm and his flesh pulsing with the flutter of a very real heartbeat. He thought that any with such qualities would follow his course of action. Maybe he should bring it the rest it needed...Perhaps it remained a fool’s errand either way. This was not a being of feeling or life.
The creatures of the cloth had left him there, not willing to chance being too close to the beast. Even the sun was slipping away from him, as the day trickled away like precious drops of water from a cup. Soon it would be gone as so should he.
I'm not sure, do you have any ideas?
OoC: Oh! Perhaps Emarei happens upon Yahn who is sitting with a crippled Guardian as it almost mournfully groans. Strange boy that he is...he’d probably be trying to comfort it.

The young man toyed with his lips for a moment, considering the question.
"It is something we are taught from the very moment we find our voices." His steps became lighter, and he almost seemed to trot along with renewed purpose. The chirps made him smile. Here were friends he had known for many a moon. They seemed flock about him, warbling to him to him in excited tones."Some find their connection more easily than others."
He thought on some of his tribe who’s voices cracked and pitches took a foul tone. It was sad…but there were others who were more than willing to lend their song.
So many words. It tasted funny on his tongue. Perhaps that was not the best way to describe it. It felt odd. The only other whom he had spoken so much with…
His pace slowed, his expression turning grim.
Vanem smiled as the other cloth creatures began to congregate around Yahn. He held out a hand when one of the creatures drew close. It brushed against him, chirping affectionately, making his cloak glow for a moment.
He lowered his hand and turned his head. He was about to say something when he noticed the man’s changing expression.
"I am thankful you have been willing to answer my questions about you and your people," Vanem said. "Please let me know if I accidentally tread on anything that is too personal." He paused. "Or if I mention anything that brings up something you’d care not think about."
He had guessed that as the issue simply because he recognized such reaction in himself whenever he thought of past tragedies that could have been avoided.
"Ah...laa, laa..." His hands raised quickly as he shook his head. That was his own doing, really. His mind seemed to drift more onto things lost of late...He truly had to wonder. Was it for him to carry guilt or was he just looking for a purpose? How does one atone for a crime that was not committed?
"My own thoughts distract me, sahibi. Forgive me." Silence settled for a moment, letting the air grow heavy as the taller retreated into his own mind.
A low groan echoed from deep with in the ruins. The guardians were awake, stalking the giant halls. Yahn looked into the gloom, features more pensive than frightened. "Do you...ever think they sound lonely?"

Yahn’s lips fell open as he pondered the other’s words. Though he, himself was a man who did not often seek company the thought of being far from his tribe left a void in him. He nodded slowly, a gesture of his attentiveness. And once again he fell into silence, his brow furrowing in thought.
He said little more along the way. He was more content to listen to the older speak. The elders had always taught him that those who walked the path longer than he should be given nothing more than respect and complete attention when they tell of their travels. So even as his bare feet carried him on, his mind remained focused on every word Vanem said.
Before Vanem could speak again, there were a few soft chirps from up ahead. Vanem turned his head towards the sound and made a few encouraging chirps of his own. A cloth dolphin emerged from hiding and drifted over to them.
"Hello little one," Vanem said in an affectionate voice before turning his head back to Yahn. "I am still rather enthralled by what you were doing earlier. Certainly the cloth creatures had been drawn to it like I had never seen them do before. Is that something many of your people can do, or is that your particular gift?"
