honestly, if gray’s empathy wasn’t so ridiculously sensitive, or if she better knew how to control her abilities (she can handle being around people at this point in time; the issue is when emotions become too intense for her to handle, or there’s too much of one thing in the air), she would be...way more sociable / outgoing.

like, her whole issue is that she’s really is a wild card. she’s powerful, and too many times has she hurt people in her life or that she comes across completely by accident, because she can’t control herself and is easily overwhelmed. i mean, it’s how she got sent to camp in the first place —— after one too many incidents involving freak breakdowns involving both her and other kids associated with her, along with the Last Straw (aka, her having enough of her mother and just. snapping bc she just kept bottling things up and that’s Not Good, especially for her), she sorta. drew unwanted attention to herself and landed herself in cabin 12. and she doesn’t let those things go, because she can’t, and because there’s no one really there to help her learn more about herself and get her shit together, so gray winds up being this huge ball of stress and she. tries to be as distant as possible with people because she doesn’t Know when something bad is gonna happen again

honestly @ someone with high empathy or fear / mania-inducing powers, pls help gray. c she rly needs it

i talked about this with eli awhile back when charlie had his own blog, but, like....hear me out. the demigods needing the help of warrior spirits / spirits who died in combat to win a big fat war, right? charlie and silena being two of the spirits summoned (+ who volunteered bc come on ... look at them) and them getting to formally meet their new siblings and to really say their final words to their friends and stuff. Them Seeing Clarisse Last And All Three Of Them Just Fucking. hugging it out for a solid 6 minutes before they have to leave
