Vickie’s FASHIONWEEK Round-up!
Hi there!
West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK has been and gone and what an AMAZE experience it was! Meeting new friends, getting to know the diverse style Belfast has and seeing the new trends for SS16 were just a few of the many perks.
The very popular FASHIONWEEK returned for the SS16 season to showcase the most stylish items from local boutiques and the High Street.
The first night of the shows started of with the local designers giving them a platform to showcase their newest designs. My favorite designer from this night was Nor Lisa. Her designs really stood out for me. The red ruffle chiffon dress was my favorite look and was absolutely stunning on model Claire Gunn who wore it so well. This was a dress I could definitely see being worn by celebrities on the red carpet.
The second night was High Street Heaven. Being a MASSIVE high street lover of fashion this was a night I was really eager to see what was in store for the current high street trends. There were so many incredible outfits from the night with the likes of DV8, Remus Uomo, Next, Dunnes Stores, Warehouse, Castle Court, Diamond Dolls. The audience LOVED the current trends, particularly the guys in the dapper suits. My favorite look from this night was from DV8, with model Claire Gunn (who was my FAVE) wore a beautiful 70's inspired look which I feel is going to be a HUGE trend this summer.

As fashion is a MAJOR part of my life, to me it's about being able to express who I am as an individual and how I can bring different looks together in my own unique style.
After an AMAZING two nights of the West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK, I had the honour of presenting my very own catwalk show at the Belfast Fashion and Retail awards. This was SO EXCITING for me and I was so thankful to have been asked to present my very own unique style on the catwalk as well as being nominated for the stylist of year award.
I wanted to try something different and mix it up a little so I went for a very diverse catwalk using trends such as Dreamy Patchwork and Stripes, Sports chic, Pastel heavens and ASOS WHITE.
I wanted to present a catwalk that was suitable for everyone in the audience whether you are that casual chic or girly girl. The show went AMAZING, and the models all looked SUPER in the outfits. I was so pleased with how it went and I'm positive the audience loved it too, especially the ASOS Star Jumpsuit as it seemed to be a big favourite.
I want to say a big thanks again to Cathy Martin and her team for giving me this opportunity and a big huge thank you to the brands that let me showcase their stuff which included ASOS, The White Pepper, Lola May and Topshop. I hope you have all enjoyed being style spotted and reading my blogs.
Looking back on this amazing experience, I have had a FANTASTIC time working with the West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK team and getting to know what Northern Ireland has to offer in the fashion world. I am SO looking forward to the next season in October. Until then, stay classy.
And that's a wrap for high street heaven @ #wccfw AMAZE show ❤️💛❤️💛❤️

Vickie’s guide to FASHIONWEEK
Hey there :) So as we have West Coast Cooler Fashion Week next week, I thought it best to share my favourite SS16 catwalk, my celeb style inspiration, where to hang out in Belfast City and last but not least, my tips on how to get your own unique style on the go for Fashion Week. There were a number of outstanding SS16 catwalks this year but Gucci in my eyes stole the show, in fact it's fair to say that their collection was my favourite EVER!! Gucci's new creative director Alessandro Michele has freshened up the brand specifically targeting a younger generation branded "the Gucci girls". The Spring Summer 16 Catwalk was filled with spectacular bright vibrant colours including incredible fabrics that looked SO beautiful with a very 70's relaxed inspired vibe.
And from a teenager, I always looked to Kate Moss for inspiration when developing my personal style- and still do! I was instantly fascinated by her forever - changing style, from rock chick to the bohemian babe. It was the first time that I had become captivated by a model for more than just her looks. Kate now in her 40's still is an inspiration to many girls due to her ability to adapt, be diverse, stand out and maintain an unrivalled uniqueness.
Thankfully there are an abundance of high street and boutique shops to assist with finding your specific look. There are plenty of restaurants, eateries, cafes and bars in Belfast that will help to recharge the batteries when doing so. The Lisburn Road is a must as it boasts lots of fine restaurants and sublime coffee shops. Standouts are Zafron, Rocket and Relish, Doorsteps, and White Field Coffee. Towards the City Centre I enjoy eating in Made in Belfast, Boojum and The Tea Pot. Finally the Cathedral Quarter is where you can unwind and enjoy a nice glass of wine or cold beer in the numerous quirky bars around that area with the Spaniard being a particular highlight.
From my own experience at fashion week, I always find it such an EXCITING time to show off your street style. As a stylist one of my main tips is to always be yourself!! Upping your normal wardrobe with a few key trend pieces will be sure to make you stand out from the crowd. Keep it Casual, never overdo it, accessories are important and ALWAYS remember to have FUN with it :)
