“Did you hit your head or somethin’?” The wording and tone do little to paint a picture of concern, and it’s true Mikumo is more confused (and mildly irritated) than concerned per-se...but it really was beginning to look like something was wrong with his classmate.

Looking at him like he’d sprouted a second head, like he was the one acting strange (Mikumo wasn’t the one calling him ‘Midoriya’ when that wasn’t even close to his name. I mean, sure, it wasn’t like they were best friends or anything but Todoroki could at least have the courtesy to remember his name.)

“Listen, we’re gonna be late for class so if you need to see Recovery Girl tell me so I can let Aizawa know, the last thing I need is a citation.” 

“...Are you even listening right now?”

hmmm, considering the idea of Mikumo getting accused of/being framed as the UA traitor at some point (bc let’s be honest...he acts like it) and ending up getting suspended or kicked out and cue vigilante/investigative boy trying to clear his name (with the help of some of the other 1-A kids)

but I still haven’t decided on an over-arching timeline so i’m not sure

He made it himself, why was he being attacked so for his obvious creative flair in the kitchen?

“What, you mean actual food?” Mikumo retorted. ‘Actual food’ was an exaggeration, given that his entire meal came in some sort of packaging. Spicy instant noodles, flaming Doritos, and a can of Monster. But it was better than that toddler’s fantasy came to life that his brother dared call a sandwich.

“You keep eating crap like that and you won’t make it to death row.”

“Well don’t look too excited.” A sigh, though she knows she really shouldn’t be surprised. Mikumo wasn’t the most excitable person in class. Still, she can’t help but be disappointed. She had gone through the trouble of planning out a class activity for the sake of bonding, after all. “What makes it such a horrible idea anyway?”

“I don’t really do excited,” Blunt as always, but unnecessary, as it wasn’t exactly an unknown part of his personality. A long exhale through his nose, rubbing the back of his neck, frustration but not at his classmate but at the feeling of guilt settling in his gut.

Yaoyorozu isn’t so bad, really. A little too bubbly for his tastes. A little too enthusiastic. But earnest and hard working, sensible--in comparison to most. People in general wear him out, but as far as people go, she’s one of the better ones. And man could she pull off the kicked puppy look without a hitch.
