a few bodyshop tricks + a faux-fix for the offspring distortion glitch

BodyShop is a willful little beast but sometimes I can trick it into altering hard-to-edit parts of a sim’s face by using seemingly unrelated sliders and “canceling out” their effect with other sliders. Looking at this post now it is not actually that helpful and everyone probably knows this stuff already but I made gifs and everything so now I have to post it, it is the law.

Default Replacement - Medieval French Names

These range from the late 13th to early 15th centuries. The last names are mainly occupational or things like “of the Fountain” rather than “from Paris” because I keep a high-fantasy hood and would rather have the freedom to create my own imaginary cities. 

Since this is a default replacement, you can only have one of this type. Also, if you change the name of the file, it won’t work.

I apologize if this has already been asked elsewhere, but do you know of any tips or tutorials out there for converting TS4 hair to TS2?

I don’t think there’s any tutorials out there. Probably because there’s so much to it, that it’s kind of an overwhelming task to write such a tutorial. You’d have to extract the hair mesh and a texture, import it into Milkshape, edit the mesh to fit the TS2 head, do the bone-assigning, export the mesh, make a package file for the mesh and recolor, link them together. It helps if you have some experience with some of those things, certainly.

My tip would be to start with loading ts2 hair meshes into Milkshape and start looking at stuff like bone assignment and how to do simple mesh-editing.

I will play the Sims 4 when...

It has something similar to Makin’ Magic and Supernaturals. Occult Sims and magic are a must for me. 

It has toddlers. The transition between baby to child is too awkward for properly doing legacies, IMO.

It has more worlds. I feel like this is just a matter of waiting. Sims 3 had a sparsity of worlds too, at first. Windenburg actually does look really cool, and has a bit to do with why I’m writing this post.

Someone creates a mod that allows you to pick more than 3 traits for a Sim. I mean, sure, you get aspiration and reward traits, but... those seem to be more “this does something special” traits than personality traits. They’re basically a re-hash of Sims 3′s aspiration rewards.

It releases something gimick-y like Dragon Valley or Midnight Hollow. I’m a sucker for this type of thing. Anything historical or fantastical would probably make me temporarily forget the above rules long enough to purchase some EPs and GPs.

I’m going to do my best to look back at this next time I find myself considering Sims 4: Get Together or Outdoor Retreat.

The latest update that Origin forced on me completely borked my Sims 3 game. I guess I’ll go back to Sims 2 now... :’(

Rose is still sad. She has Over-Emotional as a personality trait, but not Dramatic. Someone should tell her. This has gone on too long.

Rose wandered into an empty Pizzeria. Briefly, she looked up to the ceiling, as if to question whatever cruel, mercurial god who had placed her there. She wondered at how fast her romantic prospects with Mr. Ferarri had been dashed. Things had looked so hopeful in the bathroom.

Distraught, Rose decided to take a dramatic evening run in the rain.

Mr. Ferrari did not make a good impression on Georgiana, however. His temper got the better of him, and he exploded during tea. Politics... He stormed off, taking with him any hope of romance or friendship he’d had with Rose.
