âTrue, dude.â She chuckled as she looked over her friendâs carefree outfit. She loved it though, that Bridgette could just show up to an event as she was and still be the coolest girl there. âI could never say no to an offer like that.â Jackie grinned, pulling her mask and heels off in a second.Â
Bridgette only felt so comfortable around a slim number of people that she could offer to go night surfing and know for a fact that theyâd agree to it. Actually Jackie was probably the only person whoâd actually do such a thing with her. âYou look amazing, by the way. But the sea is calling.â Bridgette smirked and nudged the other before skipping off down the trail leading towards the seaside. Already she felt a thousand times happier. âWas the food any good? Got any hot gossip?!â
emotionalrileyâ:
âYeah, itâs fine,â Riley answered as they came over to lean against the edge of the balcony. âItâs just as stuffy as all those movies look, but probably less dramatic and eventfully. At least for me. No mysterious love at first sight through a fish tank.â
âThey have a fish tank in there?!â That caught Bridgetteâs attention. She peeked around the blonde before shaking her head and focusing on them completely. âIâm shocked. You seem like the sort to have met your match the minute you walked in. Have you at least been asked to dance?â
xx-paulalaâ
Paula frowned as she sat beside her without much of an invitation. The girl had already ruined her dress anyways. âWell, Iâm Paulette, call me Paula please. So now you know someone. Truthfully - I donât think anyone will be all that sober enough to care what you look like if you want to see what itâs like inside? Unless crickets and bugs are a thing. I just donât buy you not knowing a soul in there.âÂ
âI mean, I obviously know one or two people but Iâm sure theyâre busy. Iâd hate to distract them.â And in all honesty she didnât need to know how great of a time they were having without her there. She had major FOMO with these sorts of events but also knew that it wouldnât have been worth it to get dolled up for only an hours worth of fun. âIâm Bridgette. I uh donât really have a nickname?â Bridge shrugged and wrapped her arms around her knees. âI guess everyoneâs calling in sick to work tomorrow then, huh? Too many hangovers.â

âSure they arenât,â she canât help but reply. Truthfully, she didnât really care one way or another whether the girl ate all the macaroons or not. As long as she got her cookies and left that was all that mattered to Claudia. Why people felt the need to explain that they were sharing their purchase, she never understood. Just order and go, thatâs all the exchange required. âIf you order three more it will technically be cheaper, since itâs a dozen rather than nine individuals.â It always looked better on the reports to have sold a set of a dozen rather than a bunch of singular cookies.
Bridgette hated pointing out that it wouldnât necessarily be cheaper for her because sheâd be spending more money for the dozen and maybe be getting a few cents off. That being said, though, three more cookies did sound like a nice thing. She loved macarons and she could always toss some at Gwen or Jackie if she really felt too full. âAlright, then. Three of the mango please.â She smiled a little, âYou must hate cookies after working here everyday. I hear itâs possible. To hate the food you make constantly.â

âNow that itâs November, I will be accepting any and all family recipes people have for good Thanksgiving meals. Bakes goods are preferred but I wonât be picky.â Terence pulled out his phone and gave the person a serious look. âIâm not even joking. What do you have? I have a house full of queens to feed and Iâm prepping now.â
âMy family wasnât exactly the cooking type. I really donât think we have any recipes. All of our thanksgivings involved pizza and french fries.â Bridgette said with a small shrug. âWeâve never been exactly fancy holiday people.â In fact, she couldnât remember her family ever having a fully home cooked meal for any special occasion. âIâm sorry. I think people like Pumpkin Pie?â
claudettebijouâ:
It was rare that Claudia found herself in the front of the Quiet Village Bakery - not since when she had first started and had scared off a few guests with her harsh attitude - but they were short staffed today, and she was the only one of the bakers that knew how to work the cash register system. Letting out a huff as the chimes rang letting her know the front door had been open, Claudette took a moment to herself before putting on her best customer service smile and turning to face the front. âWelcome to the Quiet Village, what can I get for you today?â
Bridgette could sense the others reluctance to be working that day but that wasnât going to stop her from getting her daily macarons. There was no place that sold better cookies than Quiet Village. âGood morning,â The blonde made sure to keep her voice soft and inviting. âThree pumpkin macarons, two green tea, and four nutella. Please and thank you!â She flushed a little, âThey arenât all for me, I swear.â

âWould you wear these?â Anita slid her own designs across the table to the other person, a nervous look on her face. âIâm trying to prepare some sketches to show to Candice this afternoon but Iâm starting to second guess myself.â She always tended to second guess herself when it came the designs she gave to Candice, she had seen the things Candice could do and she wasnât sure if her own designs could measure up sometimes.
âThese... they look great, honestly.â Bridgette touched the designs with careful fingers and tried to imagine it on a runway. The only problem was she didnât know much about runways or the fashion world. âI donât think you should genuinely want my opinion, though. Iâm really awful when it comes to fashion and guessing whatâs trendy or not. Iâve worn the same hoodie since i was in middle school.âÂ

âIs the dance nice?â Bridgette wondered as another soul wandered into the open air. âIs it like the movies?â ( @emotionalrileyâ )
Just because Bridgette didnât believe in dances didnât mean that she couldnât be curious about what a masquerade looked like. Her curiosity is what got Bridgette peeking through a window and watching as bodies moved about the room. Everyone looked so elegant and happy. She was happy for them. Everyone deserved a great night. Bridgette smiled until a face popped in the window, eyes gazing back at her. The girl jumped nearly out of her converse and held onto her chest as if that would slow her quickened breathing. ( @icebcarâ )
âI know itâs a bit cold but Iâm not out on the dance floor and neither are you. Iâm not even dressed for this event! Lets surf, dude.â Bridgette bounced on her feet in excitement. She always loved night surfing. It was the most calming time to surf in her opinion. âWhat do you say?â ( @neonjackielynnâ )
