jackson lock. twenty-eight, shifter.
a softly crackling fireplace, running so fast your lungs burn, sleepless nights & a dog sleeping under bedcovers. the faint smell of wood polish. card games and laughter.
Β Β for the third spring since since her father had passed and left his shop to her, nari found herself setting up a little booth for the market. unlike the last two years she gave herself a limit, would take the rest of the weekend to go and browse after selling off whatever potions and charms she could for the day - she didnβt need it with the profit sheβd been turning, especially since finally getting a decent website set up, but she enjoyed getting out and watching people.Β
Β Β she set the last few potions out on the table just as she spotted someone near enough that she could call out without raising her voice tooΒ much.Β βeverythingβs got market prices, pretty decent discount - donβt suppose i could talk you into a purchase?β
open - little booth selling a small assortment of potions & charms,
plus a bit of jewelry that can be charmed for the right price.

Β Β β Β depends. got anythinβ thatβll help with sleep ?Β Β βΒ Β Β he didnβt need it.Β Β heβd convinced himself as much, but the exhaustion he was met with every morning was indication that lying to himself wasnβt going to do him much goodββΒ Β couldnβt hurt to cut himself some slack for once.Β Β maybe.

Evie had meant to leave hours ago, but every time she went to leave, something else would catch her attention and then sheβd get sucked into another long conversation. She was ready to just get home, get away from all the people at the market, it had only proven her right that large groups of people were still not something she could quite handle. The conversations had gotten her mind off of it, but she was quite tired of everything now, ready to call it quits. So when she heard someone call out to her, she let out a huff.Β βOh my god,β she muttered, closing her eyes for a moment.Β βWhat do you want?β She questioned as she turned around to face the other person.Β

ππ πππ πππππππ π , πππππ ππ βππ ππ Β Β Β clue why he was even here,Β not when heβd planned to go home and take his damn dog on a walk.Β Β no, instead heβd been lured by the hum of the market, his feet sending him there in a stubborn resolution very much against his willββΒ Β as much as he appreciated the walk after being stuck at a desk all day, he didnβt have much energy for people, even if he had perused some of the booths, made small talk here and there.Β Β he wasnβtΒ goingΒ to bother evie, but when he saw her he figured he wasnβt going to suffer alone. with a chuckle under his breath, jackson had wagered sheβd be even more fed up than himββΒ Β her response hadnβt disappointed.Β jackson didnβt try to be an annoying dickhead, not usually, but sometimes he found a little bit of pleasure in doing so.Β Β Β β Β shit, just sayinβ hello.Β i was gonna ask how your dayβs goinβ but... * Β ββ Β Β Β Β is that Β JACKSON LOCKΒ Β i just saw in thornhollow ?Β Β word around is that theyβre a TWENTY-EIGHTΒ year old SHIFTER, but i doubt thatβs true.Β theyβre pretty Β HUMOROUS & LEVEL-HEADEDΒ Β from what i know, but iβve heard a rumor that they can be Β STRICT & IMPULSIVE Β tooΒ Β ;Β must be why theyβre aΒ Β POLICE DETECTIVE. Β Β
they kinda remind me ofΒ Β a softly crackling fireplace, running so fast your lungs burn, sleepless nights & a dog sleeping under bedcovers. the faint smell of wood polish, coffee breath and leather, the buzzing of a television on low and the rustling of blankets. card games and laughter.
hello again ! meet my second dumbass kid, jackson (or jack, either works), a significantly bigger mess than cathy. again, i did my best to write everything in but feel free to ask me moreΒ !
* Β ββ Β hasnβt left thornhollow for more than a couple weeks at a time in his life, and doesnβt plan on it. mostly because he hates having to pack, but also because heβs very much attached to his home, and his pack.
* Β ββ Β Β to this day isnβt sure why he became a detective. he assumes itβs a mix between old cop movies and his sense of morality, but he also doesnβt dwell much on it. is happy doing what he does, and would very much consider himself married to his work.
* Β ββ Β always believed in jensonβs innocence, and his murder has... hit him hard. ten years his senior, jack had always liked the kid, bonded with him as you do when youβre a part of a pack, and hasnβt been able to get much rest ever since. has taken it upon himself to find whoever hurt those kids, but is definitely more haunted by jensonβs passing.
* Β ββΒ Β if you ask him if he feels any sort of guilt about what happened to elliana, jenson and the tourist that passed, heβll tell you that he canβt control murderers, only stop them. but he definitely does, especially the last two. he shouldβve been able to protect people, and it kills him that he didnβt. at the very least, as the main detective on the case, he shouldβve been able to catch the killers by now.
* Β ββΒ Β isnβt by any means an unfriendly person, but has definitely become more reserved and isolated in the last couple of years after the murders. would rather spend time off at home, even when he does force himself to go out and get his hands off of the paperwork he definitely shouldnβt have at home. always down for a drink and a laugh, though, if you can convince him.
* Β ββ Β still, has made sure he hasnβt dropped the ball when it comes to his family, and the people he cares about? will still be there the second you call, or text, just... is a little less there when it comes to casual get-togethers.Β
* Β ββ Β will kick your ass at darts, any sort of card game, and hide and seek. refuses to elaborate on that last one but... there you go.Β
* Β ββ Β Β canβt ride a bicycle to save his life.
* Β ββ Β Β has a one year old great dane named holly, and sheβs v much the love of his life.
