Attention followers! Due to tumblr's recent changes, our blog may not be around after December 17th. This was our main way of getting in touch with you all and we're sad that it may disappear. Missed out on getting into the book? Or maybe straight line art isn't your forte? You're in luck.
From now until November 17th, 2018 we are accepting submissions for Volume 2's cover art! We need a full color piece featuring Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2 characters, or inspired by the series.
Each side of the cover must be 8.5 inches x 11 inches, 300 dpi, and in CMYK color mode. (We can convert RGB to CMYK, but sometimes this distorts the colors.) You can also draw one single landscape-style illustration that stretches over both covers, but know that there will be a thin colored bar in the middle for the spine. Please do not put text on the book, we will be doing that before the book goes to print. Leaving room for the title is appreciated too (see Volume 1's cover above!).
Cover artwork must be unique for the book and cannot be shared until it is revealed as the cover (if we don't choose your cover, you can post it after the winner is chosen).
Optional, but highly encouraged: save a copy of your lineart for the cover, and if it works, we'll include it in the book as a coloring page!
All covers submitted will be judged by all the artists in the coloring book on November 18th, and the winner(s) will receive a free copy of Volume 2 and a $5 shipping credit to help get it to you!

This post is your main go-to for page guidelines, rules, and application instructions for the project. Keep it bookmarked for quick reference!
Coloring Page Specifications: - 8.5 inches x 11 inches (US Letter size) - Resolution: 300 dpi (pixels/inch) - Black & White (no color or greyscale) - Saved as a JPG or PDF - Linework must be crisp and clean - Drawings can be full bleed - Keep important details within at least a 1/2 inch of the page edge
Rules: - Characters from Watch_Dogs and/or Watch_Dogs 2 ONLY - No crossovers (ideas, settings, characters, etc.) with other series - No OCs (original characters) - No concepts that do not fit with the Watch Dogs universe - Pages depicting AU (alternate universe) scenes must be readable and easy to understand - Artwork must be unique for the book and cannot be shared in any way until the book has shipped. The production team may use a small piece to promote the book after production is over, but it will be determined by us so as not to reveal too much. - No explicit content (extreme violence or sex - keep it PG-13ish) - Pairings are allowed (but again, no explicit sexual acts) - The production team has the right to deny any drawing from publication if necessary - Rules will be added, edited, or removed as necessary over the course of production
General Rules: - Be kind to your fellow artists and the production team. Only offer critique if an artist asks for it. Production team may suggest changes to improve the image's chances in being approved. - If participating in the /r/Watch_Dogs Discord coloring book chat, you must abide by its rules. - Do not share any content from our email correspondence and chat with others outside the project. - If you have an issue or problem, please come to the production team for assistance. - Rules will be added, edited, or removed as necessary over the course of production.

To apply, include your name/handle, email address that is best to reach you with (if not the one you used), page sketch(s) and one or two recently created artworks that show us your capabilities. Sketches and art samples may be attached or linked from a reputable website or gallery. By applying to be in the coloring book, you agree to the rules above. Breaking these rules will prevent you from appearing in the book, and you will be banned from the project and any future projects.
Applications Open 5/1/18
Applications for Volume 2 of the Watch Dogs coloring book open a week from now! Here's what you'll need to apply:
- Your artist handle/nickname - An email we can contact you through - Your page idea(s) sketched out (Note: you don't have to submit them all at the start) - A sample or two of completed artwork you've made recently
If/when you are accepted, we will email you with approval along with a link to the Watch_Dogs discord (if you are not already a member). DM Ahki, identify yourself, and she will give you the special Artist role to access our coloring book channel. You can meet the other artists involved in the project, and bounce ideas and advice back and forth.
Additional pages after the first need only be okayed, and you're free to work.
VOLUME 2 BEGINS IN MAY!
That's right! Due to amazing response and because we have a good handle on how everything works, we're going to attempt a second book! We had some people who wanted to contribute after the fact, as well as people who got interested after the books went out. We also got some attention from some very awesome people. So we're gonna roll again, but with a few changes in how we do things!
What's Changing: - There will be artist applications for new artists. From the start, you come to us with your page idea(s) sketched out, and a sample or two of finished artwork that you've done (because some people's sketches look totally different at the end). If we okay them, you take them from start to finish, and send us the completed page(s). All linearts must be unique for the book, and cannot be shared until the book is printed and shipped. We welcome all skill levels within reason, so please don't be discouraged from applying if you're concerned about your ability!
- Artists who made it into the last book do not need to have sketches approved (but you're more than welcome to get critiques and advice in the Discord chat channel). Just give us a finished product by the deadline.
- There are no character signups anymore. Draw whoever you want, but realize there may be competition. If we get too many of a character, we may be forced to choose the best of what we receive if there's a need to cut down on page counts. Drawing multiple characters or less common ones will up your chances for inclusion.
- There will be one hard deadline in which all final art must be receieved. Applications will close two weeks before this deadline.
- Contributors will get a free book + $5 USD towards shipping it to them. Anything over we ask that you cover, as well as addition copies you may want.

All Invoices Are Out
Everyone who is purchasing at least one book should have their invoice now. Please check your spam folder if you have not yet received it! If you still don't have it, please contact us at [email protected].
You'll be sent a tracking number via Paypal when your books are about to ship (usually you'll get it the day before it goes out).
5+ book orders and free book contributors, you will be contacted with information when I get your books shipped out, which will hopefully happen Saturday. Apologies for the delay.
Invoices & Books Going Out Slowly
Invoices are not all out yet because Ahki caught the flu last week, and she has been slowly getting things out in small batches along with the multiple-book order issues.
However, about a quarter of the books are shipped and some have already received theirs. Ahki will resume shipping and invoicing on Monday. She is trying not to take money until she is ready to ship, which is why you may not have been invoiced yet. There are a number of invoices that have gone out BUT haven't been paid, so please check your spam folder for your invoice.

Invoices Going Out!
Good evening everyone!
Invoices have started to go out! However, there are a few special cases in which there will be a delay:
- You ordered 2 or more books and you live in the United States. - You are a contributor and you only ordered your free book. - You ordered more than 5 books.
Those in the US who ordered 2 or more: we have to wait for special envelopes because the weight of the package disqualifies it from first class shipping. HOWEVER, there is a bit of a silver lining in that, by going priority, it won't cost too much more, and you'll get it fast once we get it out.
Contributors and those who ordered more than 5 books: I need to physically take your books to the post office, and I can only do that on a Saturday.
We're learning a lot with this being our first printed fanzine project, but we're nearing the finish line, and we really appreciate your patience and support. I can't say it enough. On behalf of the production team and artists, we hope you love this book as much as we loved creating it!
Small Delay - Printer Down!
Everything is ready to go, but the printer is not! It decided to fizzle out from a simple change in networks, and will not print for anyone anymore. A replacement printer will arrive Saturday to replace the other.
Because of this, invoices will be put off until I can guarantee I am able to print the shipping labels. I don't like taking money without being able to send something out.
If we're good to go on Saturday, invoices will go out on the weekend, and books will begin to ship at the start of next week.
I apologize for the delay, and as promised, will keep you updated on how everything goes!
Hello everyone!
The coloring books arrived at the end of the week and are now being packed up and weighed. Each coloring book you order will be inside a protective plastic bag with cardboard backing (and if you like to color with markers, the cardboard makes a great tool to prevent markers from bleeding onto the next page).
My current goal is to have everything ready to go so that, when you pay, I can create the shipping label and have it picked up the next day.
Please keep an eye on your email this week for your invoice. If there are any changes, I will post about them on this tumblr.

The Books Have Been Ordered
Hello everyone! As promised, I'm going to keep you updated on the coloring books' journey from the printer all the way to you. The books were ordered the other day and should be here in about two weeks. It takes 2-5 business days on average to make the books, and then another 2-5 business days for them to get to us. There is also the potential for issues on their end (there was a hold up with our proofs originally), but I'll be sure to keep you posted if such a thing happens.
The response was amazing and I've got dozens of books to ship out when they get here! Thank you all for supporting our artists, and I can't wait to get the books in your hands!
