“…. What if I had them on just for a short time? Just to see if I bump in to anything weird?”

Well…. he was curious. This had never been an option to Wheelie before.

Triage nodded as he finished writing down the information from the scanner into the data pad.  It wasn’t odd for patients to ask that of him, most were curious to know that felt like to have them running and working for a little while before deciding if they want to keep the hard ware or not.

“Sure, we can turn them on for a little while.  2 weeks to 1 month is the normal trial period, which should be ample amount of time to allow you to fully explore what it’s like to have them functioning. Though I will caution that if you do decide to interface with another you will need to take the proper precautions. So that will include things like inhibitors, buffers, things like that.  You can get these items in any store for cheap.  These items have been known to fail before – they have a 99% success rate but there is also a chance that you could fall into the 1%.”

A conflicted expression crossed Wheelie’s face. Sure. He’d like to carry one day. It was one of the things he wished he could do. But he wasn’t so sure he was ready. He didn’t think he was a great parent nor was he comfortable with bringing a kid in to a dangerous situation considering his life style.

“I’d like to carry one of these days. But what are the consiquences of re-enabling things? Aside from the obvious?”

“From what I can predict from these scans, nothing outside of the obvious,” answered Triage.  He took the scanner back to glance over the data and write down more information for the smaller mecha.  Mostly for his own reference but for another doctors reference incase he decides to switch.

“But we never really know what will happen until we actually turn the systems on.  Leaving them off is an option as well if you wish to not carry or spark anytime soon.”

If Wheelie had been drinking anything at the moment, there would have been a spit take. It was a moment of skeptical shock. This had to be some sort of mistake. He couldn’t carry. Or at least that’s what he was told repeatedly.

“Wait, are ya saying that I actually can? That…. that’s not possible. Those systems woulda been disabled. That’s what I was told!”

“You’re reproductive systems have been turned off for the time being, but they are not permanently disabled,” Said Triage as he made a few more clicks to the scanner and turned it to Wheelie to show the more detailed information of the smaller mechs reproductive system.  “I would have to enable the hardware, but if you want to carry I would recommend going to a fertility specialist.  While carrying in your condition isn’t impossible it can be tricky to get sparked.”

“They said it would be too resource heavy for me to try carrying. So they suggested to have em disabled so I don’t run in to future problems.”

This was already starting to bring back a few memories of the first time he was diagnosed nearly two million years ago. Memories he wasn’t too keen on revisiting. Another reason to hate appointments.

“Nothing off the top of my head really. Just an occasional Error 96 message that’d go away after a few seconds sometimes these days. Dunno what that is. But I don’t feel weird. So I didn’t think it was such a big deal. Otherwise, I guess the ol’ once over would do the trick. Like every other annual check up.”

“They said it would be too resource heavy for you to attempt to carry?” asked Triage as he looked over the information given to him on the scanner.  It the was newest up to date information that Triage could get and he wasn’t seeing anything that would make carrying impossible due to the straight on already on the small mechs frame.  “I’m not seeing anything indicating that to be the truth.”

“It looks like carrying might be difficult to achieve but one you carry it wont be anymore intense than any other mechs carrying cycle,” explained Triage.  “Is this something you want in the future to carry?”

The 96 error could wait a little bit.  If Wheelie planned on Carrying a sparkling it was likely he would need a specialist to help him conceive.  Give him ways to keep his frame in optimal condition.

Wheelie sighed.

“Anemia. The cannons were too much of an energy draw on my systems. The energon arrow system I have now is just way more energy efficient. I also had reproductive systems sealed off for the most part.”

“Was the Anemia part of the reason you had your reproductive systems sealed off?  Or was it you just didn’t want to end up carrying or was it just sometimes too distracting having it online and functioning?”

Triage watched the systems all slowly come up with results for each system.  “Are there any systems you would like me to pay particular attention to?  Any systems errors you’ve been getting?”

Wheelie flipped open a port.

“Yeah. I’ve done this before. My old files says I had cannons at one point. But I had em removed. Too many complications.”

He supposed that he would have to plug in his own cable. He picked it up with his fingers and plugged himself in.

“Ya have my old files, right?”

“I do have your old files,” confirmed Triage.  “But what kind of complications did you suffer with these canons? They had to have been severe to warrant their removal.”

Triage watched the scanner buffer as it gathered the massive amount of data stored with in Wheelies systems.  The scanner would read the flags in Wheelies code and convert them to something Triage could read.

Wheelie shrugged.

“Well, I have been thrown through more glass windows, flung across a bar… actually wait. That was more of a very violent glide. Almost graceful until I hit the wall face first. And then there was this one time someone kicked me just below the spark chamber. Like WAY down below. Actually, it kinda went south. I mean that was a real flying kick. Best one I ever saw! I kinda sorta wish that was directed at someone else…”

He was rambling again. He managed to catch himself doing it.

“Oh. Right. Weird. I took a circuit-su chop to the neck a few days ago. It’s still kinda stiff. But that stuff usually goes away on its’ own.”

“I’ll just do a complete systems check, if thats alright with you.  I have a baseline from when you came online with the autobots.  Right?  You’re cold constructed, Autobot built?”

Triage took out a hefty scanner and pulled out the cord that Wheelie would need to stick into his medical port for the scanner to do its job.  “You’ve had one of these done before right?  Stick it in a medical port, it sends probes through your systems and tell me the healthy of each system.”

Wheelie got up from where he was sitting. The annual check up. Again. He hated going to these things. There was usually a chat about a lack of maintenance on something or talks about him taking less risks or something else he didn’t like hearing. But he would get through this just like he had gotten through everything else.

“Yeah. I’m coming. No need to get something in a knot or something.”

“We’ll be in room 2.”

Triage opened the door to the room and stood to the side allowing Wheelie in first.  Once Wheelie was inside the room Triage went to the counter, turned on the data pad and looked over his history.  

“Looks like a yearly exam?  Is there anything that you’ve felt is off?  anything hurt or feel funny?”

It was sort of a busy day at the hospital.  Though he had lost contact with a few people and his patients since he often switched from hospital to hospital.  Only recently finding a hospital he liked working in.  Somewhere outside Polyhex.  Next patient on the list?

“Wheelie?”

Dear Followers,

I know I’ve been talking about sending personal thank yous to all of you and I really REALLY want to, unfortunately if I did that Tumblr would tag me as a bot ( The BAD kind not Autobot) but I still wanted to take the time and thank you all, all 491 of you. 

You all have been here for how ever long, had seen him grow and flourish through out the 3 years we’ve been here and all of the anonymous messages, questions, headcanon developments they have all made my own stay on Tumblr that much better.

All of you.  You are all amazing and deserve the best out of next year and the last of this year.  We all know this year has been difficult for many but I am still glad that Prowl was able to bring you guys joy, entertainment, or maybe you just like seeing how I torture him.

Alright so, as you all are aware, I’m sure, November is ending soon and the first Monday of the month is starting!  So that means that greeters that are over a month old will be dropped!

Now here is where some rules are going to change. Threads (Which are for the most part are planned out will only have a life time of 4 months from now on.  There are some I might hold onto for longer (especially if our thread is on the story page) but there are a few threads out there are going to be dropped due to inactivity if you want to keep them going let me know.

“This one will only be attached for three hours.  The one I will be installing isn’t as hefty as this filter.  So the one I will be installing will take care of your energon in smaller quantities.  You need to keep it on the entire time.  You’re still allowed to do things just make sure the filter doesn’t get damaged or disconnected.”

This was yet another thing he was going to have to keep track of in fights and other adventures.
