language barriers limit awareness and the same applies to covid consciousness

bassically every covid/clean air resource i came across on the internet is in english. not being able to access knowledge and resources in a language that they understand hurts the movement we are building, especially for working class people outside of the anglosphere.

we need to talk about mandatory attendance policies in schools. they completely disregard the increasingly high number of teachers and students getting sick. even if you want more people to come in, maybe make the air safer to breathe in?? insert air purifiers and ventilation and all that.

it's just a frustrating catch-22 that the majority drags the whole of society to repeat. i sound so repetitive but this point has to be made again, which is frustrating, *again*.

starter post #2: i wrote some poetry some time ago, posting it now for Content (TM). presenting:

A Trillion of These Things Roam: A Basic Collective Desire, Eagerly Forgetting

I, a surgeon, walk through the glittered streets loose shield strapped across half my complexion.

I sign in.

Desperately I press down on the uninfluenced nose wire and fumble with extra loops that I tied on myself.

I need better protection, my home doesn’t provide.

I sigh out.

Heading off to work. My colleagues attack, sneeze, hack unabashedly on page after page, I am below legal working age.

So I matured. Strangely, seemingly only I realize: that is not an allergy, we are blanketed with sheet after sheet of confusion, fatigue, no wonder we have less capacity for intrigue.

My mother doesn’t see it that way. Every morning on the sofa I insist, that yes I don’t want my next doctor’s bill to cost the same as our yearly winter solstice dinner-

She retorts with an upturned expectation of normalcy. I run my ear through her exasperation, a single cotton strand of “return to your homeland” weaved throughout her decorative ribbon on her librarian lanyard.

I stand, but it is winter so my heart begins to race. I become a malfunctioning metronome. My mind transcends normalcy for 5 seconds, and off to work according to the surgery's cobalt and ivory poster.

I, a surgeon again, walk through the glittered streets again

loose shield again strapped on my complexion.

A 9 in Biology is useless when we take nothing into application.
