Had a look at the exhibition about Willy Fleckhaus, the big german influencer from the 1960s to the 1980s. A mix of Swiss and American graphic design, combined with German perfectionism and a canopy of creativity. At the time his vision was revolutionary, provocative, new. The show is curated by Hans-Michael Koetzle, writer and collector since 25 years, and it is the first one to show the works of this graphic genius. From the beginnings with “Aufwärts” – a publication of the labour union – to Twen, his masterpiece, followed by his clean book design and the rainbow edition for Suhrkamp to his fantastic artwork for the FAZ magazine in the Eighties. He worked with the best and he did his best. Was worth the visit, thanks to MAK Cologne. Until 11th of Dec. In January it will be shown in Munich, Stadmuseum.
