Why?
Because of one thing: Oh Sehun.
To say your relationship was complicated was an extreme understatement. You were each other’s public enemy number 1. He was the first name on your personal hitlist, and yours was the first name on his. Every day at school, he found some way to pick on you. Some days he purposefully bumped into you and made you drop whatever you were holding. Other days he might stick gum on your desk as he walked by, and on several occasions he’s stolen something of yours and made you do something to get it back.
Here’s where it gets “complicated.”
You had this really annoying part of yourself that regarded Oh Sehun with some amount of affection. This really annoying part of yourself that admired him. Even if he was douchebag of the year, he was extremely handsome (and nobody could deny that). You supposed it was just your typical “girl likes school jerk” deal that you’d eventually grow out of.
You never quite did.
Until one day, Oh Sehun decided to steal your wallet.
At first, you half blamed yourself. You let it fall out of your bag and onto the floor, and you didn’t notice. He just so happened to round a corner and see you drop it. Of course, you being you and him being Oh Sehun, he decided to pick it up.
It was what he did with your wallet that made that little affectionate part of yourself go cold.
When you walked out of that school building, you saw him standing there with a smug grin. At first you didn’t know what was going on, but then he held up your wallet. Your eyes widened, and you reached into your bag. Of course it wasn’t there, it was in his hand.
“(Y/N), this is your wallet, is it not?” He asked.
He pulled out your driver’s license.
You glared at him. “Give it back, Sehun.”
He laughed. “Why should I, (Y/N)? What do I get in return?”
At this point, people had stopped to watch.
You were used to this. Sometimes he wanted you to jog a lap around the entire school building if you wanted your homework back. Other times, if he had your textbook, he asked you to do his homework. Childish at worst.
But this was a whole new low.
“I don’t know, Sehun. What do you want?” You sighed.
“Hmmm…I don’t know. Maybe…your underwear?”
You stared at him. People around you started laughing. Some chanted “Give it to him!” or something along those lines. You looked down at the skirt you wore for your uniform. Then back up at him.
And his stupid, smirking face.
You lashed out.
You gave him a right hook to the face, resulting in a lot of shocked yells and stares.
“You perverted asshole.” You growled.
He held the side of his face, which would definitely bruise. He couldn’t do much besides stare at you in shock as you grabbed your wallet out of his hand and stormed off, shoving past spectators.
When you got to the car, you cried. How could you face all those people just the next day? How could you face him? Why would he do that, in front of everyone? How could you have ever liked him at all? You started the car and began driving, wanting nothing more than to be home. Tears still flowed out of your eyes, and you moved your arm up to wipe them away.
Maybe that’s why you didn’t see the stop sign.
All you really remembered was a loud screeching noise, a crash, and then black.
The next thing you know, you’re in the hospital.
At first, confusion set in. What happened? Where were you? And all at once, the memories came rushing back.
You’d been in a car accident.
You put your hands on your face and groaned. Of course. Of all the things that could have happened, you were in a car accident. A nurse came in and started talking to you, how it was miraculous that you escaped with only a broken leg, a few cracked ribs, and a concussion. She also said that the person who hit you was fine as well.
You nodded and thanked her. She said that you should probably rest, you’d be in the hospital for at least a few weeks.
You agreed. Despite the fact that you’d only just woken up, it was almost like being woken up at 3:00 AM by a yowling cat. She said that if you needed anything else you could always asked. You thanked her, said you were going back to sleep.
And you did.
What woke you up happened about an hour later.
You heard faint arguing through the wall.
“She’s asleep right now.”
“Please, just…let me see her.”
“I’m not sure if I should.”
“Please. It…it’s my fault she’s in there in the first place. I just want to apologize to her.”
“Fine.”
You kept your eyes closed and your breath even as the door opened. You didn’t quite recognize the voice through the wall, and you figured it was the person who hit you. But when they started talking, you almost choked.
“(Y/N)…I’m so sorry…” the voice stammered.
The previously taunting voice, full of arrogance, was now hesitant and cracked.
Oh Sehun quietly took your hand and rested his chin on it. “I’m so, so sorry…I’m such a jerk, aren’t I? I pick on you so much, I always find some way to humiliate you. But this…you’re in the hospital because of me.”
The way he said “me” was laced with disgust.
You remained quiet.
“Why am I so stupid? I mean, this whole time I resented you. And I don’t even remember why I resented you. Probably something childish. That’s what I am. Childish. And look where it got you…” He continued, unaware.
Part of you wanted nothing to do with him. Another part of you was too curious to say anything.
“…And at first, I just picked on you for your reaction. But as time went on, I just…I started doing it because I wanted to talk to you and had no other way to do so. I started caring about you, more than I really admitted to at first. Months and then years went by and…I only cared about you even more.” He said, brushing a few stray strands of hair out of your face.
He…cared about you?
“I follow the same route as you when I go home. I saw the whole accident. I thought you might have been killed…I called the police crying hysterically. I thought I lost you. And it would have been completely my fault. This is my fault. I guess I never really realized it, but…(Y/N), I love you. In this bizarre way, I went from hating you to liking you and now to loving you. I guess it doesn’t matter…you probably hate my guts.” He said.
It took you a few seconds to really process what he’d just said to you. He loves you? It was shocking enough that he was even here, but this was a completely different kind of shock.
He placed an absentminded kiss on your hand and then stood up. He turned to walk away, when…
“Sehun.” You said, stopping him in his tracks.
He turned around quickly, eyes wide. “I…uh…did you…hear all that?”
Your face remained blank. “Yes.”
He stared down. You could see his face turning red. “I…don’t know what to say…”
You maintained your neutrality. “Sehun, after two years of nonstop teasing and picking on me, it took a car accident to get you to realize that, of all things, you love me?” You asked.
Sehun sighed. Nodded. “I mean…I always sort of knew, but…just never really…admitted to it.”
You shook your head. “Alright then. Let me ask, what do you want to come out of all this?”
Sehun looked up at you. “The most I can ask is for you to forgive me.”
You looked at him skeptically. Then thoughtfully. Then you smiled. “I can do that…but why should I, Sehun? What do I get in return?”
His jaw dropped a bit. Were you really doing this? “I…I’ll never pick on you again. When you come back, I’ll carry all your books. And your bag. And after that, I wouldn’t even speak to you again. I won’t even look at you, as hard as that would be for me-” He stuttered, until you interrupted him.
“Sehun. Stop. You don’t have to completely vanish. But you are carrying all my stuff.” You said, feeling a bit of satisfaction for getting back at him.
Sehun sighed, then smiled at you. “It’s…the least I can do.” He replied, sitting back down at the edge of your hospital bed.
“Look, Sehun…what you did today was really awful. But I’m willing to move past it, okay? So once I’m out of here, let’s go get coffee and work out what to do then.” You said.
Sehun nodded. “That…sounds nice.”

If he glanced just a bit to his left, he could see straightdown your shirt. And because it was one of those lazy Sundays, you had no braon. So whether it was his own ego at stake or his own arousal, when he hit afairly straight part of the road, he quickly grabbed your waist and pulled youinto his lap. Considering your boyfriend is the “one and only”Kai of EXO, to say your life was hectic was an understatement.

You enjoyed a bit of solitude every now and then,especially when just stepping outside of the apartment complex had you seeingspots from the camera flashes. Between sasaengs constantly chasing you (oneeven tried to break into your apartment) and the paparazzi trying to blind you,solitude was precious.
Still, though, it was all worth it. When “Kai” camehome he turned into Jongin, the sweetest boyfriend anyone could ask for. Huang Zitao sighed in annoyance, holding his phone to his head. Junmyeon only sighed back on the other end.
"Zitao, come on. Just come to my sister’s dance competition." Junmyeon huffed.
Zitao shook his head. "Why…? I mean, your sister’s nice and all, but-"
"Zitao, you act as if you never drunkenly confessed to me that you liked her." Junmyeon said in a sing-songy voice.
Zitao's face instantly went red. "Sh-shut up, hyung! I'm just shy, okay?"
Junmyeon laughed. "I know, I know. But come see her competition, please? I know you want to, and I'll even pay for your ticket."
Zitao groaned, using his free hand to facepalm himself. "Alright, hyung…"
Junmyeon let out an excited cheer before telling Zitao he'd pick him up at noon, then hung up. Zitao stood up from the couch he was on and went into his room, panic setting in.
What would (Y/N) like to see me in? Would she care? He wondered as he started picking clothes out from his closet. It's probably a pretty sophisticated event…suit, maybe? I think I look good in suits, would (Y/N) think so too?
-One Hour Later-
As a man of his word, Junmyeon rang the doorbell of Zitao's apartment right at noon. After fretting over his dirty blonde hair for another three minutes, Zitao ran to the door and answered.
"Ah, Zitao! You look amazing! (Y/N) will love it." Junmyeon said, patting the younger Chinese man on the shoulder.
"Okay, okay, hyung…can we just go? I'm nervous and I might back out now." Zitao sighed.
Junmyeon laughed. "Of course. Let's go."
The two men went down the elevator and exited the apartment complex. Rushing thoughts went through Zitao's head. He kept switching between confidence and anxiety. From She likes me, right? Otherwise this persistent hyung wouldn't have asked me to come. to What if she hates my hair? My suit? My shoes? My eye color?
This went on for about 10 minutes, until Zitao registered Junmyeon nudging his shoulder.
"Zitao, are you okay? We're here…Zitao? You're spaced out…" He said, concern laced in his tone.
Zitao shook his head. "What? I'm fine! Yeah!"
Junmyeon nodded. "Alright…well, we're here. It starts in about ten minutes." He said as he got out of the car.
Once Zitao was out (and still a bit dazed), Junmyeon locked it and went inside the theater. Zitao was impressed by the interior…big, red with a gold trim. He followed Junmyeon, and the two showed the guard their tickets and went inside. They looked around for their seats, and found them toward the front in the middle. They moved past a few people and sat down just a minute before the show began.
"Zitao, thank you for coming…the truth is, my sister (Y/N) adores you." Junmyeon said, laughing.
Zitao looked at him, astonished. "What do you mean, hyung?"
"I invited you here because I knew she’d be ecstatic, and-”
Suddenly, the lights dimmed. An emcee came onto the stage, and announced the first person. Junmyeon remained quiet, as did Zitao, out of respect, although there was an unspoken tension between them. Person after person went up, until at last the emcee called out your name.
Zitao’s jaw literally dropped as he saw you walk out onto the stage. You wore a beautiful white dress that flowed with the way you moved. A spotlight came on, and suddenly the sound of a woman’s soothing voice came on. She sang of joy, grace, and beauty, which Zitao thought you embodied completely. Your movements were smooth, flawless, and simply entrancing.
That was, until your heel broke.
And down, down you went.
The music stopped abruptly, and you let out a cry of pain. Junmyeon shouted your name, and paramedics there just for this situation rushed onto the stage. Zitao watched, somewhere between disbelief and horror. Junmyeon tried to rush down there to see you, but Zitao held him back for his own good...he knew Junmyeon would crash through any guards in his way.
Pretty soon, an ambulance was called onto the scene and you were lifted away on a stretcher. The emcee came out and apologized for what happened, which made Zitao angry. They called you an inconvenience. Junmyeon quickly ran out of the theater, and Zitao followed him closely. They weaved their way out of the audience, through the lobby, and back to the car.
“Zitao, we have to see her. Now.” Junmyeon said, throwing open the car door.
Zitao practically dove into the passenger seat and slammed the door shut. “Well then let’s go.”
Junmyeon started the car and may have earned himself several speeding tickets had any police officers been around. They sped to the local hospital and jumped out, rushing through the other people. They told the receptionists who they were here for, what happened, and asked how long they’d have to wait. The receptionists only said they’d be there about an hour before visitors were allowed.
The two men waited in the lobby impatiently. Every so often a nurse would pass by and they’d ask “Do you know if (Y/N) is okay?” and all they’d get is a “She’s doing fine.” and be forced to wait once again. An hour seemed like a year before finally, a doctor came and called for Junmyeon’s name.
Junmyeon jumped up and went to the doctor, asking more questions than anyone could really process. The doctor calmly replied that there was paperwork for him to sign and that she was fine and that yes, she’ll go home in a couple days or so, etc.
Zitao sighed. He just wanted to see you. “Hyung...can I go see her?” He asked.
Junmyeon looked at him, then at the paperwork. “Go see her. I’ll fill this out and come in when I’m done.”
Zitao nodded at him gratefully and then went into your room. He found you sitting up, crying and cursing to yourself.
“(Y/N)...?” He said cautiously as he walked in.
You looked up, eyes red and puffy and then immediately hid your face. You did like Zitao-quite a lot-and this was the last side of yourself you wanted him to see.
“Y-yes?” You stuttered, trying to gain some composure.
Zitao sat at the end of your hospital bed. “I was there with your brother. I just wanted to say that you were...fantastic.” His breath hitched a bit at the end.
A few stray tears ran down your face. “Well, injuries basically disqualify you from the competition. All that hard work...gone. And because of one damn shoe.” You replied, as more tears ran down your face.
Zitao stood up and moved next to where you were sitting up. “Shhh, it’s okay.” He whispered, putting his arms around you and resting his head on yours.
You let out a few more choked sobs, letting your frustration out. You noted how strong his arms were, only adding to the comfort they provided. One hand came and wiped away the tears on your face, making you smile.
You supposed it was the best-case scenario in an otherwise awful situation.
So, the day I said I was going to start posting again, my internet decided to shrivel up into a prune and die. I know, horrible excuse, but there honestly wasn’t anything I could do.

Ah, how familiar you’d become with that term and all its synonyms. After all, you had the word ‘differen’t tattooed on your back. You sighed, smiling, knowing the comfort it often brought you. After giving yourself a careful once-over again, you left your apartment and headed for the restaurant your boyfriend of seven months, Sehun, had gotten reservations for. It was an upscale place, so you figured you might as well dress nicely. He was a brat sometimes, sure, but he offered to pay for everything (despite your protests of splitting even) and was actually very sweet when you two were alone.
In the car, you got a text from him, asking where you were. You quickly texted him that you were almost there, and immediately returned your eyes to the rode. Miraculously, despite the heavy traffic, you hadn’t crashed. You made it to the place right on time, admiring the dim, orange-red lighting. It coincidentally complimented your dress rather well. You looked around for your boyfriend, when you felt a tap on your shoulder.
You spun around to find Sehun right behind you, looking extremely handsome in a suit with his hair neatly done. You smiled softly at the sight, while Sehun kissed your cheek and led you to the table. It was off in a darker corner, where there weren’t as many people around. It was…somehow perfect.
The dinner was amazing. You felt spoiled, but no matter what you ordered, Sehun paid for. You made a mental note to repay him for all this. He treated you like a princess the whole night, rarely speaking of himself. Although, he did make a comment about how you looked in your dress, with a wink. You were nearly as red as your dress.
Then, he…asked you.
“Jagi, what was that on your back?” He asked innocently.
“What do you mean?” You asked him, tilting your head.
“I was right behind you when you walked in, and I saw something like…a flower on your back. What was that?” Sehun replied.
He…saw that?
“Um…I’ll…explain when we get back to your apartment.” You said quickly, desperate to change the subject.
You weren’t too open about the subject, and couldn’t believe how stupid you’d been. Your dress showed the middle of your shoulder blades, where your tattoo was. Of course he’d see it! You almost wanted to bang your head on the table. To your surprise, Sehun just nodded and changed the subject.
The rest of your date was uneventful. As promised, Sehun paid the bill and took you outside. Since he lived rather close to the restaurant, the two of you agreed to go back there afterward. He walked you back, holding your hand, and led you up to his apartment on the sixth floor. As soon as he closed the door behind him, he asked again.
“Jagi, can you show me the flower on your back…?” He asked.
You took a deep breath. You turned around and unzipped your dress so he could see the whole tattoo. The henna-styled tattoo of a lotus flower with Chinese characters was for him to see. He gently traced the outline of it, remarking how beautiful it was. Thankfully, no suggestive comment was made.
“Jagi, what do these Chinese characters mean? I can’t read it…” He asked.
“D-Different,” you stuttered. “They say different.”
“Why?” Sehun asked.
You turned around to face him, zipping your dress back up. “When I was younger, my family was…narrow-minded. My parents are both doctors, and wanted their kids to be surgeons or lawyers or something like that. To them, a paycheck meant a lot more than being happy. My two older sisters followed this-one is a neurosurgeon and the other is a prosecuting attorney. Well, when I was born, my whole family thought I’d follow their lead. But I didn’t want to. I…I didn’t want to bear the responsibility of another person’s death if I failed during the surgery, and I didn’t exactly want to put people in prison either. They tried to force me to do other things, but I resisted. I found I loved writing more than arguing and making incisions. So that’s what I decided to do-become an author. Of course, none of my parents approved. They wanted me to be just like them, and my sisters, and my aunt and uncle and older cousins. So I moved out when I was eighteen and lived on my own ever since. I got the tattoo as a reminder of who I am…I’m not like my family. I don’t want to do something if it won’t make me happy. I don’t want to force another life form to do something that I want.” You answered.
Sehun just stared at you, contemplating all this information. Then he pulled you close, because you started crying.
“All the insults, Sehun. My own family called me lousy, worthless, and foolish. A disgrace. The tattoo reminds me that I’m not like them.” You whispered, tears sliding down your cheeks.
“You aren’t. You’re special. You’re unique. You’re different. Your family couldn’t see that. But (Y/N), I do. You’re beautiful and intelligent, and there isn’t anything you can’t do. You are so much more than your parents or sisters could be.” He said, rubbing small circles on your lower back.
You wrapped your arms around him.
“Thank you. You’re the first person who’s told me that.”

You pressed a hand to your large, pregnant stomach as the clerk checked out all your items. She recognized you, of course-you were the pregnant wife of Kim Jongin, also known as the infamous Kai of EXO. You’d received a lot of internet hate ever since your pregnancy had gone public, but nothing like what was about to happen to you that Wednesday afternoon.
You carried the plastic bag out of the store, only to be face-to-face with a group of young, teenage girls. They didn’t look happy. You’d been confronted by sassaeng fans before, but never so many at once. Most of them were empty-handed, but the three girls in front were holding belts. You tried to side-step them, only to find they blocked your path. It seemed that your choice of a lesser-known store had suddenly gone to your disadvantage, as nobody was coming out and you couldn’t see anyone on the street.
It started off as usual, with the name-calling and “Oppa is mine!” but what you didn’t expect was for the belts to come lashing out at you. They left painful burning sensations across your face, arms, and worst of all your stomach. The clerk didn’t seem to notice a thing as the girls grouped up and pulled your hair and kicked your legs out from under you. Then they started kicking you.
And they paid extra special attention to your stomach.
A painful blow to the head had you seeing spots. Where was the clerk? He should be out here stopping this…
Then the cop cars pulled over. The girls were almost too busy screaming to hear the sirens going off, but they realized what was happening and ran off. One girl gave your stomach a final kick before she ran. You were weeping and cradling your stomach as everything went black.
Jongin was in the practice room, rehearsing choreography. His mind was full of happy thoughts, such as the baby and the fact that you two were going to determine the gender in a few hours. He thought nothing of the phone call at first, until he saw the caller ID. It was the local hospital. He answered with a calm “Hello?” when the operator began to tell him what happened.
When he heard the word “sassaengs” he knew. His voice broke as he answered with short confirmations, then immediately sprinted out of the SM building and into his car. He had to do some creative driving to get to the hospital as fast as he did, but thought nothing of it as he nearly bust the doors down. He hurriedly told the receptionists your name, having to repeat himself three times for them to understand what he was saying. They directed him to your room, where the bright red light above the ER shone. He collapsed to the floor, helplessly waiting for someone to tell him that you were okay. You had to be, right?
You…had to be…
A man in his early 50’s came out of the room after a while (To Jongin, it felt like years) and informed him of your current state. You suffered two broken ribs, a concussion, a broken nose, and several whip lashes. Five words stuck out to Jongin, though.
“Miraculously, the baby was unharmed.”
That’s when the tears started pouring out. The guilt, the anger, the unfairness of it all started to pour out, but above all he was overjoyed that the baby wasn’t hurt. The doctor said that you’d be staying in the hospital for several weeks, during which you’d be treated for the broken ribs. Jongin just nodded, wiping away the tears in his eyes. He was granted permission to see you after you woke up, which was two hours later.
The first thing you felt was the headache. It was enough to make you curse out loud, which was when you noticed where you were. The hospital bed suddenly became very uncomfortable when you felt the IV’s in your arms. The nurse standing by you asked how you felt, but all you could reply with was a desperate “Is my baby okay?!” She informed you of your condition, and that your baby was just fine. She also told you that your husband was waiting for you outside. You immediately asked to see him, to which she nodded and went outside. When she came back, Jongin was with her. He let out a choked cry of relief, immediately running and hugging you as gently as he could. He recounted to you everything that happened, that a security camera let the police see every girl’s face, that the reason the clerk didn’t help you was because he was inside calling the police as soon as he saw the girls outside. He kept apologizing over and over, and all you could do was hug him and tell him that it wasn’t his fault.
You cried, too, in relief that your baby wasn’t hurt. Then Jongin kissed your head and whispered,

Jongin silently wrapped his arms around you, his mate. You smiled as you felt him murmur how good breakfast smelled, and coming from him that was a very big compliment, considering his sense of smell is incredibly strong.
So was his hearing.
And his eyesight.
And taste.
And touch.
Your husband of two years, Jongin, just so happened to be a werewolf. He told you that night, when the anger of another man putting his hands on you turned his eyes red and his teeth sharp. It scared you at first, as you only thought those kinds of things existed in the fairytales and bedtime stories of children. To know they existed, and that any person you see on the street could be one, terrified you. But Jongin told you that he could control his shifting, that he’d never hurt you. He showed you what his wolf form looked like…it was somehow terrifying yet gorgeous at the same time, his silky black fur and bright red eyes.
It took some time adjusting to the reality of it, of course. But after that night, you weren’t scared anymore. You knew he’d never hurt you, and you also knew he loved you. After a while you thought that his ability only made him even more amazing than he already was. After three years, the two of you were married. And two years after your marriage, well…you were pregnant.
Jongin was always extremely protective of your unborn baby. He knew that he or she would be a werewolf like him. So he never let you stand on anything too tall, or else you’d fall. He insisted on going with you whenever you went to run errands, because he was afraid of you somehow getting hurt.
What Jongin wouldn’t tell you was what he liked to do every night before you two would go to sleep.
Two months into your pregnancy, Jongin noticed a tiny thumping. It was so faint even he almost couldn’t hear it. He couldn’t tell where it came from, until he realized it was the baby. He pressed his ear next to your swollen belly and listened intently. He even felt it move. The thought of you, the love of his life, carrying their unborn child amazed him. He liked to talk about it with you, the thought of having a baby son or daughter.
Which is why every night since then, Jongin would wait for you to fall asleep. He waited for your heartbeat to slow down, for your breathing to even out, and for the light snore which he always thought was cute. Then, he’d ever so carefully shift down and press his ear to the top of your stomach. He was particularly excited last night, because for the first time he felt the baby kick. The light, sudden press against his cheek was enough to make him gasp loudly enough to wake you up. You were too tired to really question what he was doing, because he just told you to go back to sleep.
So that morning, you finally asked him about it.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about…” He lied.
“Yes you do, your face was on my stomach.” You retorted, turning to face him.
“Nuh uh.”
“Yuh huh.”
“Nuh uh.”
“Yuh huh.”
Your persistence paid off when he cracked.
He just smiled and said “Fine, fine, I’ll tell you. Four months ago, I started to hear our baby’s heartbeat,” he said, placing your hand on your stomach. “And every night since then, I liked to listen to it for a while before I went to sleep. Last night, the baby kicked. That’s why I gasped, because I was so excited.”
You smiled and kissed him. “You think I didn’t know you did that?”
He looked at you, surprised. “Sometimes when the baby moves, it wakes me up. But often I’m too exhausted to really move. However, I do feel your head against my stomach. It’s sweet, honestly.” You replied.
He kissed your forehead. “And I thought I was being stealthy.”
You shook your head, smiling as he gently pressed his lips against yours.

You’d think with your boyfriend being the infamous Kai of EXO, he’d be the one having to make time for you. But instead, it was often the other way around; often, it was you who made time for him. But you had dance practice for several hours today…

Jongin <3~: Oh..okay, another time I guess.
You knew he was trying not to seem hurt, but you could tell he was. You did this to him a lot without really explaining why. It was always “errands” or “other plans,” but then you’d come into your shared apartment sweaty and tired. You’d even gone as far as to cancel plans due to your frequent practice.
You knew it was suspicious, but you just couldn’t tell him. You were a hip-hop dancer, but next to Jongin you were practically nothing. You were too shy to tell him why you always came home short of breath and with messy hair.
Little did you know that today, he had had enough of it. Jongin trailed just several yards behind you. After three months of this, he wanted to know what was going on. You came home late, you cancelled plans, you avoided making plans, and it all had been gnawing away at him for the last two months. At first it hadn’t bothered him, but now he was worried. He had a tendency to fear the worst, and right now he felt like you were cheating on him.
So that morning, he donned his sunglasses and kept his hood up, and quietly followed you to wherever you were going. He figured you’d be headed to some other man’s apartment, but when you stopped at a dance studio, he grew confused.

You took off the sweatshirt you wore, revealing the loose T-shirt and sweats you had on underneath. You put your hair back into a ponytail and then plugged your phone into a stereo. Facing the mirror, you took a deep breath as the beginning to Two Moons began playing.
Jongin silently watched you, leaning against the doorframe. You must have been so focused on your own reflection that you hadn’t even noticed his. He watched as your body moved precisely and cleanly, and knew you’d been practicing this for a while. His eyes widened when you managed to pull off a flip that would impress even Zitao.
You were good enough to give even Jongin a run for his money, and he was one of the best dancers in the industry. As the song came to a close, you reached for the water in your bag when you finally noticed Jongin’s reflection. You whirled around, your face growing pale.
“J-Jongin?” You stuttered.
“So this is what you’ve been doing all this time.” He stated, grinning at you.
“I-I just…” You mumbled. You had no idea what to say.
“Why didn’t you tell me? I feel like resigning as EXO’s lead dancer now, you’re amazing!” He nearly shouted. He ran toward you and enveloped you in a tight hug.
“J-Jongin, I can’t breathe!” You exclaimed.
“S-sorry!” He said, immediately releasing you. “But why didn’t you tell me?”
“I just…you’re EXO’s Kai. Many people will say that you’re the best dancer in the entire industry. I just do this because…it helps me express something. Let go of it. It’s liberating. I’m not even that good.” You replied, not looking him in the eyes.
“Hey, hey…” He mumbled, lifting your chin up with his thumb. “You’re honestly amazing. You say I’m the best in the industry, and yet here you are, my equal at the very least. You’re amazing. Don’t take yourself down like that.” He kissed your forehead, causing you to smile.
“Maybe you should come down here sometimes, then.” You said, hugging him.
“Of course I will. Now we have something we both love doing that we can do together.”

You just needed another minute to clean off the kitchen table. As you hurriedly put away the last few plates, you could hear an impatient sigh. You laughed and shook your head, imagining what he must look like up there.
“Don’t laugh at me!” He shouted.
Ugh. His hearing never let you have any fun. See, your boyfriend Chanyeol was…a little bit different. He hid what he was from you for about a year, before one night you walked in to him convulsing on the floor. He needed to change every so often, otherwise his body would begin to deteriorate. When you tried to take him to a hospital, he stuttered something in your ear. Something like “Don’t be scared.” You could only watch in shock as your boyfriend began to grow fur all over his body. Claws emerged instead of hands, and ears grew where his normal ones should be.
Back then, Chanyeol thought you would have left him immediately. But something stopped you. You couldn’t leave him, not when he’d just trusted you with something like that. Not when you needed him desperately. So you accepted him for what he was. When he transformed back into his human form, he explained everything. You could remember the fear building in your chest. It was almost like he could sense it, because he asked you if you were afraid.
You said yes. But not because he was a werewolf. It was because…you were pregnant. That’s why you needed him. You needed him because you couldn’t bear to raise a child without its father, no matter what kind of being he is. Chanyeol just hugged you when you said that. He held you tight and told you that everything would be okay.
And now, the two (well, three) of you were here. You moved into the large two-story manor that Chanyeol lived all alone in. There was plenty of room for the three of you as a family, and you’d since become obsessed with keeping it clean. Chanyeol said that the baby would most likely be a werewolf, as it was a dominant gene and tends to take over. Which you were fine with. You loved Chanyeol, and you loved the baby growing inside you. You put a hand over your heavily swollen stomach and smiled.
“Alright, I’m done, I’m coming!” You shouted, making your way up the stairs and into yours and Chanyeol’s bedroom.
He was already lying down. When he saw you, he held his arms out. You smiled and got into bed, letting his strong arms wrap around you and pull you closer. He nuzzled his nose into your neck, which he knew you loved.
“(Y/N)…does it scare you that we’re going to be a family?” He asked.
“Sometimes. But then I remember that you’re going to be with me every step of the way. Then it doesn’t seem too scary anymore.” You replied, taking a hold of his hand.
The two of you stayed silent, just appreciating each other’s company. Chanyeol could hear your heartbeat slow down, then he heard you breathing slow down and become even. He sighed contentedly, because this was his favorite part of the night. See, if everything is just quiet enough, he can hear something very important.
He listened intently, just waiting. He could faintly hear the tiny heartbeat of the baby growing inside you. He gently moved his whole body down and put his ear next to your stomach so that he could hear it more. He couldn’t believe that you, his mate, were going to have his child. The prospect terrified him, but excited him even more. He moved his head so that it was on the very top, as that’s where he could hear the baby the best. That’s when he heard the baby kick. He could just barely feel the slight pressure on his cheek. He resisted the urge to get up and start jumping up and down, because hearing that had just made his night. He just grinned, amazed that something like that could grow inside of you.
“Chan…yeol? What are you doing…?” You asked, still half-asleep.
“Oh, n-nothing, (Y/N).” He said, quickly taking his head off your stomach.
You were too tired to really care. You just mumbled something incoherent and went back to sleep. Chanyeol moved his body back up and pulled you as close to him as possible. Even though you couldn’t hear it, he just wanted to say it.
“I love you, (Y/N).”
