When I (@og_no_rtro ) decided take on this project for PVT and collaborate with Marrs (@pvt.marrs) we decided to bring something new and interesting something different that people really weren't expecting of the brand totally completely 100% creativity 100% unfiltered 100% expression. When I asked Marrs to co-create with me, I wanted to make some references to the essence of hip-hop and pay homage to the graffiti artists in the 80's. They tagged such beautiful murals on the subway cars, the underpass, and the side of the buildings. I wanted us to harness some of those elements. Also, we agreed to create something dope and unique for the General Public that can't afford $600- $800 dollar wearable art that some other well known artists create. So we made these dope pieces but at a more democratic price point of $150. I love with West Lang has done, I love Warren Lotas. We wanted to do something dope so that the kids, the teenagers, the rebels, get an opportunity to get a piece of dopeness. This was a two and a half month project, a true labor of love, and expression. It was a chance to put our feelings our thoughts, our dreams, our nightmares; onto a trucker cut, distressed by hand, vintage denim, giving you real timeless artisanship. They are completely comfortable and washable created with special dyes and paints. If marrs and I could we would of done 12 pieces. However, due to time constraints we presented 5. I hope that even if everyone can get their hands on this Timeless piece in history, that you could appreciate the dedication, hardwork, and artistry as much as I appreciated those murals.
