Black Library stories I want:
A day in the life of a space marine serf. Just imagine all the shit they have to go through.
I know we got a little taste of it in flight of the Eisenstein but it wasnt focused on him.
And yes, I know of Septimus. But that was a very special case too. Too much horror with nightlords around. Just like a boring regular Ultramarine or something (im sure its pretty horrific too)
It's probably the mundane kind of unpleasantness you experience when tending to a sick person (as a family member/friend or as a part of your day job in healthcare), except you're also doing it all around 2,5-meter-tall beef slabs venerated as your god's holy grandchildren.
Everyone in Black Library is like "oooh aaah polishing armor", or "uhhh ohhh scrubbing out gore", but your job also includes replacing the stomia/catherer bag and putting the prosthetic limbs back on for "an angel" who just barely resembles a human anymore and can crush your skull with one hand. The one that didn't get ripped off by a Tyranid, that is.
You get it.
Yeah I'd read that. I know the reason why is that there's no market for it, 40ks world building is really hampered by the lack of a mundane perspective to really offset the grimdark of the setting. The Infinite and the Divine is the only book I can think of off the top of my head that gives us a glimpse into the daily life of ordinary citizens of the Imperium. (Cain WISHES he could, but he's got Emperor's favorite blorbo syndrome)
It’s been a while so I might be wrong, but I think Spear of the Emperor is from the pov of a Mentors chapter serf. A highly specialized serf if I remember correctly but more normal-ish than anything else I can think of.

had a blast drawing all that blood on him🫀
Thought: I am aware it would not happen in canon because Cain is dead and buried at the present point of the setting and Lucius is obviously still Eternal (and also they wouldn't kill off Lucius like that) but if anyone could have managed to kill him it would probably be Ciaphas Cain.
Think about it: if anyone could be counted upon to kill a champion of a god only due to an improbable stroke of luck and then (after being informed of the significance of what he had done) internally discount his own success to the point where he couldn't really bring himself to feel anything more than relief and imposter syndrome in the aftermath, it would be Cain. It only counts if you feel pride or self-satisfaction, right?
YOU'RE GODDAMN RIGHT
He would accidentally drive over him while trying to get away and feel nothing but fear over it
He spends the rest of his life low key afraid that he didn't actually kill Lucius and that Slaanesh's champion is gonna come back and kick his ass, which I think would cancel the curse out quite handily.

Why does God give us such love for our furry babies only to take them away so soon? 💔💔💔
Succubus Wych Nihgt Gen'ga of The Cult of The Abandoned Corpse and her partner Archon Da'tura Bela'ur of The Kabal of The Splintered Skull.
Adoptive mothers of Lost Primarch Az'khal Tru'gall.
Art by Me. Yes, they are lesbians, if you might ask. If you have a problem with that, then begone.
Nihgt Gen'ga is several inches taller than Da'tura and she at times pokes fun at her about it. Da'tura is roughly 6'2". Gen'ga is about 6'5" (without heels, which she hardly goes without, so she towers over the Archon unless the latter wears her helmet). Deeta is around 7 feet, quite tall for a wych.
