Steve Harrington being babey
!! try + robin from stranger things :D
Send me ‘Try’ and a character and I will write how I would play that character
“that’s right, dingus–”
folding her arms over her chest, robin grins before reaching forward to slide the contents of the now opened envelope across the table to steve. her expression is smug but it’s masking the most intense barrage of maternal proudness she’s ever felt in her entire life.
the tech acceptance letter glares up at steve and he blinks.
“—you’re a college boy now.”
“i- i’m a college boy– er- man–” steve lets out a surprised chuckle before his face quickly lights up, the gravity of the situation finally sinking in. “i got in!” taking to his feet before robin has a chance to say anymore, he whisks her off her chair, arms enveloping the other in a desperately appreciative hug.
“okay– okay- hey watch it- i’m not a mop, quit trying to wring me out–” she laughs, before steve lets go, mouth still agape in something resembling a half smile.
“and it was all thanks to your killer writing,” she teases before continuing, “–but you had an insanely awesome teacher,” she shrugs, the sentiment punctuated with a wink.
woah look at me my drafts are empty! time to dig through the presents jean left in my inbox
❛ hey — ! food isn’t allowed this close to the pool ! ❜ god, didn’t people read signs these days ?
open for mutuals .
he stops mid stride at the voice that’s seemingly come out of nowhere. the popsicle has already begun to turn to slush, and he’s already groaning at the though of the sticky syrup coating his hand. he was headed to the bathroom anyway. to wash this shit off.
glancing around to find the source of the voice, steve finds himself looking higher up than he had initially anticipated. neck craned, he nods in acknowledgement in the general direction of the lifeguard chair before finally lifting sunglasses onto his forehead and coming face to face with the chair’s inhabitant.
“oh, hey heather.” he responds, nonchalant.
‘ oh, uh. ‘ jonathan wasn’t BLUSHING, but he felt heat tipping itself across his features - his ratty suitcase, the same one he’d had since he was a first year, was so close to falling apart that jonathan had TAPED pieces of it into place. it had never looked too bad, until it felt right into steve harrington ; if there was ever a clash of worlds, it was here, on the hallway, on the train to hogwarts. ‘ shit, sorry. ‘ clothes sprawled out of the sides, dropping onto the ground - a great start, like always. / @wearyminds
he’s already half asleep by the time the train engine rumbles to life beneath him. it’s his seventh time making this beginning of the year journey, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting. regardless of that fact however, the train is crawling with first years and steve squeezes his eyes shut, reaches for his painfully obvious muggle technology- noise canceling headphones. just as he’s about to drift off however, a suitcase appears out of nowhere and collides with his knees, springing open and scattering clothes across the floor.
“oh come on--” he whines, before catching a glimpse of the suitcase’s owner -- byers. a near instant feeling of secondhand embarrassment washes over him at the sight, and before he knows it, he’s on his hands and knees, dumping wrinkled belongings back into a ratty old suitcase, “--i got it, it’s fine man.”
character name: steve harrington character age/year: eighteen/sixth year blood status: halfblooded ( muggle on his father’s side ) hogwarts house: hufflepuff. bio: steve’s parents came from two completely different worlds-- his father, the quiet mundane life of a muggle, and his mother, the wondrous and terrifying world of magic. but mr. harrington quickly grew to love the wizarding world and all the perks and power that came along with it. and so baby steve was almost destined to end up at hogwarts. by whatever means necessary. ( cont. under cut )
the harringtons quickly grew to become almost a household name, and steve’s sorting results quickly worked to undo that. hufflepuff? what a disappointment.
but time away from his parents did steve some good, and the harrington boy learned to love his new family. but he’s still cool-- he’s not a nerd. and don’t you forget it!
now a quidditch chaser for hufflepuff, steve’s not afraid to use that position to his advantage when it comes to scoring points with the ladies. or maybe that’s all just a front? who really knows. probably only the others in his herbology class ( in which he’s a straight A student ). but don’t tell anyone. it gives him a chance to care for something with a significantly lower chance of loss of life or limb.
and that’s a win in steve’s book. cool points be damned.
