Johnny doesn’t have all the answers, still so many things that will be in question if they do this. There will be a bunch of paperwork, and all the boring adult responsibilities to take care of. All that mattered would be if he was married to Peter. They would be his spouse, and he knows that deep down that makes him the luckiest man in the world.
That grin makes him mirror the same expression. “Since FOREVER I think. I just didn’t know how to say it until now.” Johnny wishes that he had figured it out sooner, but they were here actually doing this. “You love me? You’re IN LOVE with me too?” He feels his hair light on fire, the blush obvious on his face. The flames are burning, and he turns them off soon as he relaxes, not wanting to start a fire. He has always been like that, quick to ignite when he was flustered. Johnny kisses Peter back quickly after that though. “This isn’t a dream, and I can’t wait to MARRY you today.”
“yeah, maybe i should’ve told you sooner,” peter tries to sound light about it but maybe his hidden feelings for his best friend shouldn’t be something he jokes about. “and it took me long enough to say it so don’t burn the building down now.” he’s smiling as he blows on johnny’s head before the flames turn off and just like that, they’re kissing. peter smiles even wider at that.
as they pull away, peter tries to contain his smile. “so we’re doing this? right now? just like that? well---” a pause as he gives them both a once over. “maybe--- maybe we’d need to put on clothes first.” right. he nods to himself and slides off the bed, stepping into his underwear as he speaks. “oh, and you haven’t even told me about the honeymoon yet! and---am i taking your name or are you taking mine? though, i feel like that’s antiquated. is that a thing people still do?”
