but some things take precedent over feelings. like his life. and may is too far and ethan would step up if peter really needed him to, but if peter's too busy trying to stay alive then he won't be doing his best at concealing his identity from everyone else at the house.

peter's hobbling, his right leg is mostly useless to him. he's holding his left arm to his chest to keep steady. it's broken, probably in three places, and jostles like dead weight when he's not supporting it. his suit is torn in a few spots, blood leaking into the hoodie on top of it and sticking to his skin. his hoodie protects his face, he knows he's sporting a black eye and a busted lip too.
to everyone else on your floor, he looks like a zombie. or a drug laced houseless person with a tip on the best dorm to score at.

it should get easier when peter sees your door. the little decorations you and ally put out, the small whiteboard with doodles and messages. he should be moving faster because it means safety is near, but if anything it slows him down. a double burden.
peter closes his eyes, grits his teeth and lets go of his left arm. it dangles by his side. with his good hand, he knocks hard. your door swings open not even a minute later.
'wha-aah?' a casual greeting cut short. he knows he looks bad, he wouldn't be here if he didn't think he had to be. he swallows hard, you're staring at him with the look he never wanted to see from you. the first time your amusement for his alter-ego is painfully spiked with reality.

you're finding out spider-man doesn't win every fight and this time, he brought it to your front door. and part of him wants to comfort that, he wants to hold you and promise he's okay and he just needs to see your face or hear your voice so he knows it's all worth it. those days will come, but right now he needs you more than he ever wanted to admit.
'are you okay?' you're not mad he showed up, you're not mad he broke your blocked boundaries by showing up anyways. you're worried and that scares him more than anything else.

you take a step backwards and open the door for him, giving him a wide berth when he limps inside. the door shuts behind him, his vision is going spotty- he knows he's on borrowed time. he pulls the hood off, your face twists looking at his.
'peter.'
he doesn't listen, he tugs the zipper of the hoodie down. his fingers shaky, pale and stained red. you mutter a curse at the cuts in his suit, skin sliced with it. 'can you get me a towel?' while you dig to find one you wouldn't mind getting ruined, he delicately removes his jacket off his broken arm. it's starting to set, he just needs to keep it straight.
'towel. here.' instead of taking it, peter nods to the ground. 'lay it down.' you check the placement, 'here?' he doesn't check. 'sure.' your eyes race over his face, his body, his blood. everything feels chaotic and calm at the same time.
'what do you want me to do? you're bleeding and your arm is like, really freaking me out, and you're not talking and i don't know what i'm supposed to do right now.'
peter supports himself against your bed as he pushes himself to the ground and against the towel you laid out. 'i'm going to pass out.' your heart roars in your ears. 'peter, no, what the fuck. you can't pass out, i'm going to freak the fuck out if you pass out.'
peter breathes calmly. 'keep my arm straight. get me naked. clean me up to see what's still bleeding and put pressure on it until it stops. i'm going to be okay. but i'm going to pass out now, okay?' you drop to your knees beside him. 'no, not okay. i can help but i need you awake so please don't pass out.'
'i'm sorry.'
his eyes close, you grab his face. 'peter, no. stay awake. peter. peter. peter. hey, petey, baby, hey, come on. no, no, no, just open your eyes. come on, let me see you. peter. peter, please. peter? spider-man? okay. okay. keep your arm straight, i can do that. and i can take off your suit and clean you up. i'm going to help you and you're going to wake up. you are going to wake up, right? you have to wake up, peter.’
i do yes i have a lot of wips and can't focus on just one tho. i'm trying to build up what i have before i start posting so it doesn't take a year to post another chapter. i have 3 chapters written out now, i just pushed other things above it and highkey that was an L move.

So anyway I have two friends who started dating. They're very cute and im happy for them but they're in their honeymoon phase so they're all over each other, and they're also like rubbing it in my face that they're together.

And my friend today ended up making an off hand joke about how "everyone's dating except me" and there have been a few with the same gist since they got together.
And its not malicious or ill intended i know hes just messing around but it still feels really shitty especially when I have to watch them be all over each other and clingy constantly.
Cuz its not for lack of trying and he knows that. He knows how badly I want to be in a relationship and that there have been people I've tried with and it just didn't happen. He knows I haven't even had my first kiss yet or anything.
Maybe I'm being dramatic idk it just sucked to hear cuz like yeah I know. I know.
