posting a bit late, but this was my contribution to the WOE.BEGONE fanzine: WOE.BEZINE 💫 The zine is full of thought-provoking essays, amazing art and fics that brings out the best of the show:) amazing work from all contributors. make sure to check it out if you haven't already!

This was a sort-of appreciation piece for one of my favourite w.bg songs Cenotaph. Even today I think it's one of the songs that is just so explicitly Mike(y)(ael). Thanks for having me @woebegonefanzine !

I'm currently binging Woe.Begone, a podcast well-known for it's abundancy of Mikes, and my partner is watching the Pitt. You can imagine how confused I was when I discover that Mr. Pitt (how I was calling the main character) IS named Michael, and my partner had been picturing this in his mind while he listened to episode 44:

UNTITLED COMIC FOR AN UNTITLED MAN

THE WOE.BEZINE IS OUT!! This was my contribution. Thank you so much @woebegonefanzine for organizing this. Bonus thoughts below the cut

This comic is based on a poem I wrote about in February 2025 + a Nobody-centering parody of Heroin by the Velvet Underground I wrote in the spring. I collaged the pages July 2025 with these writings and Season 17 in mind. I finalized and lettered the text fairly recently. The secret full title is UNTITLED COMIC FOR AN UNTITLED MAN, but I kept it as UNTITLED within the zine, as I enjoy how that interacts with "[UNTITLED] traveler" on the first page.

Collaging is one of my favorite art forms and it felt right to use it for a WOE.BEGONE zine. These images (depictions of reality) have gone through countless cycles of selection, adjustments, and happenstance, all for them to end up in my collaging material pile. Unknowable ripples of humanity and time. You could say I have turned waste into beauty. You could also say I was at the mercy of vacation brochures, science magazines, and wrapping paper. The pages were scanned at like 720dpi and processed into 600dpi spreads. I'm sharing them here at 35% resize. Again, cycles of transformation. Processes of creation and destruction interplay.

I think it's the best art I made in 2025. It shows my experience with collage and balances the abstract with concrete elements very well. People are steered through a narrative, while still having the space to create their own associations and find some personal connection with one detail or another.

Very happy to finally share it with the world.
