Shadow the Hedgehog: the person PATCHNOTE used to be before the "Sonics" who claimed to love him ripped him apart and put him back together so many times that even the universe ceased to recognize him.

Except...

He blinked, taking in the colors and the eyes. No, this wasn't him. This was a near-lookalike, but it wasn't him. With this realization, his ears (mostly his right) pushed back, and he frowned at the stranger. "You," he noted, "I don't know who you are, but you're better off staying away."

He'd been through enough.

Ever since he'd crossed the line from Survivor to... not a Killer, but something somewhere in-between, the monsters didn't often go out of their way to look for him during rounds. He wasn't part of the game anymore; hunting him down was useless. Not that they wanted to- not when they "loved" him.

PATCHNOTE didn't sleep. Not often, though he absolutely could. It was one of several needs no one needed to fulfill anymore.

Today, though, he'd allowed himself to doze off in the dark green-red grass of Hill, laying on his side on an out-of-the-way ledge, one of his tails clutched tightly in his mismatched arms.

...At least, he was. Up until the sound of heavy footsteps made Rouge's ear twitch from atop his head, and he slowly opened his eyes.
