Hi friends! Just wanted to let everyone know that I released my first single last night. I've kind of been secretly making music in my bedroom for the past 2-3 years... lol. Putting a physical manifestation of your emotions out into the public for people to judge is, quite frankly, terrifying. But I'm trying to focus more on how music reaches us all differently instead. If even one person listens to my song and feels/identifies with it then all the nervousness was worth it!

If you want to know a bit about me, I’m a 23 year old girl who grew up classically trained on violin and viola and then branched out in college and learned piano, guitar, bass, and singing. I’m making mostly singer/songwriter pop-ish songs right now. I do all of it, from writing the instrumental parts/lyrics to recording to mixing. I also teach violin for a living.

My mother was the first woman I knew who moved out of her own body. She vacated it, bit by bit: her lawn of her hair turning colors and falling out, the front porch of belly and breasts disappearing overnight, the foundation of muscle repossessed and leaving her to scoot down the stairs on her disorientingly bony ass. She disappeared. Her hair grew back, but her face changed shape so sharply that friends who she hadn’t seen in a year did not recognize her. She was like any other woman; she loved the attention her new body received and being able to buy clothes in any store she saw. But what she really wanted was to not be like me anymore.
