Smash tournaments? Didn’t ring any bells in Cloud’s already extremely foggy mind, the only thing he really could think of that sounded somewhat close to that was the battle square, but the shorter man had already said that wasn’t it.
“Sorry. I can’t remember what you’re talking about…” He leaned down slightly however, bringing himself to Luigi’s level so he could hold out his hand for him to shake. “We must have met at some point though, since you know my name. I can’t recall yours though.”
Not being remembered was... Something Luigi was used to, unfortunately, so it didn’t really surprise him any when Cloud said that he didn’t remember his name. Oh, well. It was fine, right? Maybe a touch of disappointment hit the man -- but he could get over it.
“I-it’s okay! Don’t worry about it.” Instead of complaining, the mustachioed man took his hand in his, with a slight shake to his own. “I’m Luigi! I’m Mario’s little brother. Well, little big brother,” he giggled softly, “but yeah. I didn’t really like those Smash tournaments, anyway. I just went because I was invited... I’m not much a fan for fighting.”
After taking his hand back, he shrugged. “Despite what I said about it being, um, too quiet, I much prefer it like this than on those battlefields.” He paused. “Are you really sure you don’t remember? They were a big thing...”
