Welcome to Week of Kiliel! This event will be held May 17-23! The goal of this week is to celebrate and be creatively inspired by the relationship between Tauriel and Kili Durin! We want to encourage The Hobbit community to make Kiliel art, fanfiction, edits, crafts, and more! Guidelines and rules under the cut!
• There are prompts for every day to inspire your creativity! You can pick one or multiple from each day, and they can be followed as loosely or as closely as you would like!
• Please use the tag “#week of kiliel” so we can reblog your entries! You can also tag @weekofkiliel! We are so excited to see and support all of your work!
• Late entries are fine, though we ask that you do not post earlier!
• If you have an existing work that fits one of these prompts that you would like to submit, that is fine, but please repost about it with the hashtag on the day it corresponds to! While we accept already existing works, we really want to encourage new Kiliel content as that is one of the goals of Kiliel week!
• NSFW is allowed! While none of the prompts are explicitly NSFW, NSFW is permitted as long as it is properly tagged!
• While the main ship and characters should be Kiliel, background ships and characters are welcome! However, for this event we do not accept Durincest or other incest ships.
NO AI WILL BE PERMITTED FOR THIS EVENT, ANY AI ENTRIES WILL BE UNOFFICIAL AND WILL NOT BE REBLOGGED OR ENDORSED

“She walks in starlight in another world…”
Once, Kíli murmured these words to Tauriel as he lay dying. She saved him then, but she couldn’t save him when he met his end upon Ravenhill. Now, centuries later, Tauriel has accepted her loss and returned to Valinor—but when her old friend Legolas arrives with a dwarf at his side, old griefs reawaken and she determines to make her own happy ending. Only this time, it is Kíli who is in another world, and she must enter into the Halls of the Dead to find him.
for @weekofkiliel Day 7: Afterlife, I finally finished my long-awaited sequel to All Things Turn!! this is a Silm-infused version of Tauriel, but this fic is all about her and Kili (and Legolas and Gimli, of course).
thanks always to the fabulous @welcometolotr for making this whole AU possible <333

So, this is technically the 2nd chapter of a fic that was already written, and I added to it. That was always the plan, tbh. But to enter it for this, I separated the Kiliel portion out for the event, because it can stand alone. :)
@weekofkiliel
The fic itself is called What's Your Name? (What's Your Number?) and can be found here.
Rating for the whole fic and this chapter: General

Summary of Chapter 2: Kíli and Tauriel's unconventional meeting.
Happy Week of Kiliel, and I hope you enjoy! <3
Kíli was tired of being a fifth wheel. It was even less enjoyable than being a third wheel, which he was often to Fíli and Ori. Six months after they met, the two were disgustingly happy together. However, at the moment his and Fíli's cousin had also brought along his boyfriend Legolas, meaning Kíli was the odd one out, times two.
Except where Fíli and Ori were being smitten and sweet, Legolas and Gimli were arguing or griping at each other. How they had managed to get to the tenth hole with that type of behaviour, Kíli didn't know.
"Someone just put me out of my misery," Kíli muttered after Gimli's ball grazed Legolas' and moved it off centre of what would've been an excellent shot.
Fíli, at least, met Kíli's eyes to share a commiserating look as the bickering began anew. However, he didn't get to properly enjoy that because a sudden pain had him folded over in two. Somewhere, he could hear his elder brother's voice calling his name, but Kíli ignored that.
"What the f-," Kíli began, before a stranger's voice cut through those around him and his own exclamation.
"I am so sorry," they said.
Kíli glanced up, his eyes pricked with tears, to find the most beautiful person before him. Their green eyes were filled with worry, framed by long, bright fiery red hair.
"It's no trouble," Kíli said, as he attempted to stand up to his full height, though the pain in his groin ached something fierce.
Even standing up though, he was still shorter than the stranger beside him. Not that Kíli cared, nor would it matter if he never saw them again either. It was simply an observation he made idly, whilst trying to ignore the hurt that was radiating from a specific point in his body that was otherwise demanding attention.
The stranger frowned then said, "Let me get you an ice pack, at least. They likely have one around somewhere."
Kíli thought to put them off, but a little more movement had him wincing yet again.
"Thank you…." he drew out, before they said, "Tauriel."
His eyes caught sight of a tiny pronoun pin with 'she/her' on Tauriel’s sleeve. Despite the pain, Kíli was grateful to see that. Not everyone so casually used them, whether they were Trans or not, he'd learnt from Ori years ago.
"That’s a lovely name," he replied, smiling despite his anguish, then added, “I’m Kíli.”
She nodded, offering her arm, which he took. There was a faint blush across her cheeks which he didn’t fail to miss. Though noticing that did make Kíli just a bit more excited to speak with Tauriel, even if it was an unconventional time and unlikely to mean anything hours later.
Soon Kíli was on a bench where he remained until Tauriel returned, handed over the ice pack, then sat beside him at his left. She stretched her legs out and laced her fingers atop one of her knees after.
Once the ice pack was properly settled, Kíli asked, "So, what happened?"
Tauriel grimaced, her lips pressing into a thin line for a moment before she spoke. "My friend's younger sister distracted me when I swung, so the powerful shot I made hit you instead of propelling it up a mountain."
That explained a lot, but even in knowing what happened, Kíli wasn't sad about the outcome of the errant shot. He was grateful, in fact. Whether anything came of it, at least he had someone else to talk to who wasn't making doe eyes at another, or whinging at their significant other either.
Kíli shrugged, wincing shortly after, then shifted the ice pack again to properly cover his crotch. It had moved with him, which he hadn’t expected, but neither had he anticipated what occurred during the night so far.
"Ah. Well, pain aside, you actually saved me in a way," he relayed, then exhaled heavily.
"Did I?" Tauriel asked, her voice tinged with surprise.
Her green eyes widened ever so slightly as well, as Tauriel held his gaze after, waiting for an answer. They reminded him of verdant rolling hills in spring.
Internally swiping that thought aside, Kíli nodded.
"Yeah. My brother and his boyfriend, as much as my cousin and his boyfriend, were driving me a bit up the wall."
Rather than being greeted with judgement, Tauriel let out a laugh.
"It's funny you say that," Tauriel said afterwards, humour glinting across her green irises.
"How so?" Kíli replied, failing to see the levity in the situation at all.
Tauriel smiled, not unkindly, seeming to pick up on his slight irritation.
"Legolas is my cousin. I could hear him and Gimli through the trees."
"Small world then," Kíli replied, before he sighed and turned away for a moment.
"We could make it smaller," Tauriel suggested, which had him turning back towards her.
Her face held what appeared to him to be a hint of hesitation before Kíli asked, "How do you figure?"
"We trade numbers and I'll take you out for a drink; coffee or alcohol. I'll let you pick your poison." Tauriel paused, shooting Kíli a self-deprecating smirk towards him. "My treat, as an apology."
Kíli smiled, liking the idea already. However, before he could agree there was something he needed to state up front. Taking on a serious voice, he said, "I'll agree to those terms on one condition."
The change in tone seemed to take Tauriel by shock, but she nodded. "What is that?"
"We leave our family members behind. It's a date, just the two of us."
Tauriel's face split into an actual grin before she reached out and pushed his shoulder lightly.
"You had me worried there for a minute, with how serious you got." She said, then shook her head, which drew her hair to swaying all around her face.
Afterwards, Tauriel held his gaze saying, "A date then, just us."
