Im probably never gonna finish this fic but this part is too buzzy to just sit useless in my Google doc:

"I thought about you all the time. I felt like I was going crazy some days…”

“I- Well- Crazy together?” Will smiles, unsure if Mike would have even remembered that conversation.

“Yeah.” The word punches out of Mike with a breathy laugh, Will grins like a dope into the dark, trying to memorise Mike’s face.

They lay there silently after that, just existing in each other’s presence. Will blinks slowly, trying to take in Mike’s face despite not seeing all the little details. Mike seems to be doing the same, subconsciously leaning in. Will shifts closer and squints at the freckles dusting Mike’s cheeks, he frowns at not being able to make them out. Will’s brain short circuits when he registers that they are basically breathing in each other’s oxygen, Mike’s warm breath puffing over the bottom half of Will’s face.

“What time is it?” Will whispers into their, now shared, space. Mike seems to blink into himself and all but throws himself back, grabbing the digital clock off the night stand.

Btw in my mind Will has branching scars up his back from the mindflayer. Whenever he is asked about them he just says he got struck by lightning because those can cause scars like that (they're called lichtenberg scars/features and they're lowk cool)
