i just realized...

that whenever we find something on marblehornets.com, the thac boys do an update. like when i first found marblehornets.com and there was this errorerror gif on the cast&crew page, then i found the ‘are you awake’ text on the site, then there’s this thewaterisdeep gif and the e-mail d.scott sent, then someone found the /welcome page, and it changed after a very short time, only with the text “please leave” showing on the page. those updates weren’t done until we found out about the page; it actually remained same. the boys wait for us to find a thing, old or new, THEN they make an update on that thing.

The biggest tragedy in Marble Hornets is that Alex never became self-aware.

this gives me an idea

What if he did become self aware? What if he saw that his movie was utter shite, and was so embarrassed about it that he wanted Jay to burn the evidence of it (ie the tapes) when he was going to move? And once he found out that Jay was uploading them to YouTube, he became so enraged that his good name was being besmirched by his own work gaining publicity, he decided that everyone that knew about the film and the tapes had to die? That means anyone that was involved with the filming AND anyone that knew what he was doing (ie his girlfriend Amy and her roommate, Jessica).

What if Marble Hornets was just Alex desperately trying to hide Marble Hornets like the author of a terrible fanfiction they wrote when they were 11?
