20 year old Jelena Ostapenko becomes the first Latvian player to ever win a Grand Slam after defeating Simona Halep 4-6 6-4 6-3 in the Roland Garros final. She also becomes the first unseeded woman to win since 1933. Not only is this her first Grand Slam win, but the first time she has ever won a title on the WTA tour.
