FEET MOVE CAREFULLY AGAINST THE EARTH , each step silently tread as he followed the tracks that seemed to be left only moments earlier . a STRANGE occurrence so close to the city , but one he would ACCEPT in order to make a few extra pieces of silver before his trip back north . but something ASKEW causes knees to bend , the mohican lowering himself to the ground to observe . the tracks of ANOTHER , so quickly they disappeared . the strangeness causes brows to furrow , finger tracing across the earth before gaze follows the tree trunk UPWARDS , over the branches , above him until gaze fixates on the girl in the tree .     “   ——— shiki hèch ?   ”

her gaze snaps down to the earth far below her feet and it’s testament to her many years spent in trees that there is no vertigo that comes with it. the sigh she sees, however, somewhat startles her. a man, a man not much different in appearance than her, who looks as if he could have come straight off neverland with her. her brows furrow at the foreign words he speaks. it is not english, but it is not her own tongue either. 

      ❝ do you speak english? ❞ she calls down, terribly curious despite her          better judgement.

worserthoughts:

for a moment,  he said nothing. letting her words SINK into his subconscious, he chewed on the inside of his cheek. she had a  point, and how it NEEDLED at him. he was not a lost boy anymore but rather just…l o s t .

“ I can hunt and fish. I can  learn  how to build. if you    will just help me a LITTLE, I know I can live here    happily. please,  please  don’t give up on me. ” 

there’s a frustrated breath and she turns to take a few moments to just- stop. she shouldn’t be surprised, not really. the ones that came from england always felt they deserved to be here at first. they soon learned that neverland was not so easily tamed. 

      ❝ this is not your england. you cannot bring your ways here. it will not work, ❞          she warns. there is, perhaps, even a small threat there. it was the          englishman’s ways that took tik tok from her. it was wendy’s that          essentially took peter. she would not let this one take anything else.

she’d assumed a lack of wariness initially, but tiger lily’s suspicious nature has begun to take over. her eyes watch the woman more carefully, her body adopting a stillness. 

      ❝ why are you here? ❞ she obliges in asking.
