This!!! Please don’t use your (valid) hatred of the US government to ignore the actual history and demographics of DC in order to make DC a MAGA shithead. It’s weird and disrespectful and removes the historical and continuous fight by DC residents for rights and representation.

Considering it is AAPI heritage month, I wanted to draw some Asian countries! Phillippines looks exactly like I want him to and I am very pleased.

Prussia circa 1770sish????? Idk I hate drawing this fuckass uniform so much LMAO. I don't know how anyone can do this.

Not my canon interpretation, mostly a funny "communal" Prussia created by a group chat on crack.

Blonde men are so hard to draw but it is made better by it being longer hair.

Some notes below the cut!

her hair is a bit more "wild" in this particular design

Her cape is based on one from an old painting of Nahienaena when she was like 5 I think. (So 1820s but eh they used the same clothing)

between this and her iconic 1816 dress I draw her in all the time, (More of a holoku prototype that was popular from 1820-1900) I was thinking about giving Wai a design where it's chaos. Hawaiian folks loved mixing and matching gendered clothing from the sailors, so there is a very high chance Wai had a British navy uniform she absolutely desecrated

The lei on her head are Ohia Lehua but severely simplified.

The green lei on her neck is Maile! Very common lei here.

I sat here with a nude Wai for like ten minutes trying to figure out what lei I should put on Wai to give her some modesty and my brain went "Lol you almost are as bad as a calvinist rn" and I crode/j

Her Kapa wrap may or may not be subject to designs!!!

Are there any country personifications that don’t speak English, and how does that go over in international meetings?

Since English is the language of diplomacy, they are all fluent to some degree. For more regional meetings like OIC, they might speak Arabic, and the Latam organizational meetings might be in Spanish, and relations with a country that speaks your language (Mexico and Guatemala, etc.) might be in that shared language, but it depends. For big shit like the UN, yeah, that's in English. It really just mirrors whatever language the organization uses for communication.

idea: based on the fact that the national animal of the US is a bald eagle and the fact that bald eagle babies look absolutely god awful as chicks but eventually grow into the elegant sleek birds that they are, i headcanon that al (as a baby/toddler) looked godawful. just absolutely wonky. messed up hair and squinting eyes. he looked like the spiritual equivalent of a bald eaglet. he was absolutely an ugly baby (and toddler). he only became attractive/handsome after he became an adult (or at the very least, aged out of his teen years). but like, for the majority of his childhood and preteen years he looked skrunkly
