🇮🇹 Altro giro, altra serie terminata. E' la volta di "The 'Burbs", adattamento televisivo del film del 1989. La storia segue una giovane coppia che si trasferisce nella casa d'infanzia di lui, situata in un tranquillo e apparentemente idilliaco quartiere residenziale. La loro nuova vita viene però sconvolta dall'arrivo di un misterioso vicino che si stabilisce nella casa di fronte, dando il via a una serie di eventi che riportano a galla vecchi segreti. E’ per metà comedy e per metà thriller e il risultato è una di quelle serie da guardare per puro svago e divertimento! Grazie alla parte comedy la serie dà l'impressione di non prendersi troppo sul serio e regala situazioni e personaggi bizzarri (non so decidere chi tra Tod e Lynn sia il mio preferito!). La parte thriller è pure ben gestita e ben scandita dai vari colpi di scena (alcuni sono abbastanza prevedibili ma ciò non influisce negativamente sul prodotto finale). In definitiva, promossa! Si è conclusa con un cliffhanger quindi spero ci sarà una seconda stagione, con anche nuovi misteri! --- 🇬🇧 Another round, another series ended. It's the turn of "The 'Burbs", the television adaptation of the 1989 film. The story follows a young couple who move into his childhood home, located in a quiet and seemingly idyllic residential neighborhood. Their new life is upended by the arrival of a mysterious neighbor who moves into the house across the street, triggering a series of events that bring old secrets to the surface. It's half comedy, half thriller, and the result is one of those shows you watch for pure entertainment and fun! Thanks to the comedy, the series doesn't take itself too seriously and offers bizarre situations and characters (I can't decide which one, Tod or Lynn, is my favorite!). The thriller is also well-handled and well-paced with various twists (some are quite predictable, but that doesn't negatively impact the final product). Overall, a thumbs up! It ended on a cliffhanger, so I hope there's a second season, with even more mysteries!

🇮🇹 Ho recuperato, recentemente, le prime due stagioni di 'Paradise'. Perchè non ho recuperato questa serie prima?!! Ben scritta, ben recitata, ottimi personaggi! E’ di stampo post-apocalittico, un pò thriller politico, un pò fantascienza. L'esistenza idilliaca di una tranquilla comunità, che ospita alcune delle persone più importanti del mondo, è sconvolta da un omicidio efferato. Il delitto innesca un'indagine dalla quale emergono inattese rivelazioni. La storia si svolge nel presente ma in ogni episodio abbiamo dei flashback che approfondiscono il passato dei personaggi nonchè gli eventi che hanno portato al presente. L’episodio 7 della prima stagione credo sia stato il mio preferito. L’ho trovato anche pericolosamente vicino alla realtà visto quello che sta accadendo nel mondo con il clima. Non vedo l'ora che arrivi la terza stagione! --- 🇬🇧 I recently caught up on the first two seasons of 'Paradise'. Why didn't I catch up on this series sooner?!! Well written, well acted, great characters! It's post-apocalyptic, part political thriller, part science fiction. The idyllic existence of a quiet community, home to some of the world's most important people, is shattered by a brutal murder. The crime sparks an investigation that uncovers unexpected revelations. The story takes place in the present, but in each episode we have flashbacks that delve into the characters' pasts as well as the events that led up to the present. I think episode 7 of the first season was my favorite. I also found it dangerously close to reality given what's happening in the world with the climate. I can't wait for season three!

🇮🇹 Tempo di recensioni! Tra i miei generi preferiti c'è quello del cozy crime quindi dovevo assolutamente recuperare la serie tv "The Marlow Murder Club", tratta dalla serie di romanzi di Robert Thorogood. La protagonista è Judith Potts, archeologa in pensione, che insieme a due amiche (una dogsitter e la moglie del vicario del paese) inizia le sue personali indagini quando un omicidio (o più di uno!) scuote la pittoresca cittadina in cui vive. Loro insieme formano un buon trio, adoro l’ambientazione e che dire della casa di Judith?! Non ho letto i libri, quindi non posso fare paragoni, ma la serie è carina e divertente da guardare! So che è stata rinnovata per una quarta stagione. --- 🇬🇧 Review time! Cozy crime is one of my favorite genres, so I absolutely had to catch up on the TV series "The Marlow Murder Club," based on the novel series by Robert Thorogood. The protagonist is Judith Potts, a retired archaeologist who, along with two friends (a dogsitter and the village vicar's wife), begins her own investigation when a murder (or more than one!) shakes the picturesque town where she lives. They make a good trio together, I love the setting, and what can I say about Judith's house?! I haven't read the books, so I can't make any comparisons, but the series is cute and fun to watch! I know it's been renewed for a fourth season.

🇮🇹 Un paio di acquisti recenti che voglio mostrarvi. Un porta-aghi magnetico in legno, così carino che lo tengo esposto come un piccolo ornamento; e un set di spolette, tutte diverse tra loro. Mi piace abbellire il mio angolo lavoro con cose come queste perchè credo fortemente nel creare uno spazio che ispiri la creatività <3 --- 🇬🇧 A couple of recent purchases I'd like to show you. A magnetic wooden needle holder, so cute that I keep it displayed as a little ornament; and a set of spools, all different from each other. I love decorating my craft corner with things like these because I truly believe in creating a space that inspires creativity <3

🇮🇹 Il pomodoro puntaspilli (a volte accompagnato da una fragola) è un soggetto molto popolare tra le ricamatrici, non solo come accessorio ma anche come soggetto da ricamare. Non avevo idea del perchè ma poi l’ho scoperto. (Vi basta fare una ricerca su Google.) Mi sono detta allora che dovevo avere un pomodoro puntaspilli anche io :D Ed eccolo qui, realizzato con uncinetto e un pò di pannolenci <3 --- 🇬🇧 The tomato pincushion (sometimes accompanied by a strawberry) is a very popular motif among embroiderers, not only as an accessory but also as a motif to embroider. I had no idea why, but then I discovered it. (Just do a Google search.) I then said to myself that I had to have a tomato pincushion too :D And here it is, made with crochet and a bit of felt <3

🇮🇹 Il primo ricamo incorniciato: una piccola casetta all'interno di una bobina <3 Sfortunatamente, non sono riuscita a togliere del tutto quella riga nella stoffa. Col senno di poi, forse avrei potuto usare un trucchetto… Lo terrò a mente per la prossima volta! --- 🇬🇧 My first framed embroidery: a little house inside a bobbin <3 Unfortunately, I wasn't able to completely remove that line from the fabric. In hindsight, maybe I could have used a trick… I'll keep that in mind next time!

🇮🇹 Restare sveglia fino a notte fonda a chattare con una persona che scrive dal Portogallo: fatto! Ma è il bello dell’internet: conoscere persone che vivono in altre parti del mondo, con cui condividi interessi comuni, e che altrimenti non avresti mai conosciuto! Da diversi anni ho un'amica in America con cui mi sento molto spesso. Mentre una deliziosa persona dall’Inghilterra mi ha fatto avere un film introvabile qui <3 Poi ci sono quelli di "passaggio", con cui scambi solo pochi messaggi, ma che ti fa piacere aver conosciuto e di cui conserverai il ricordo! --- 🇬🇧 Staying up late at night chatting with someone from Portugal: done! But that's the beauty of the internet: meeting people from other parts of the world, with whom you share common interests, and whom you would never have met otherwise! I've had a friend in America for several years who I talk to very often. While a lovely person from England sent me a movie that is impossible to find here <3 Then there are the "passing" ones, with whom you only exchange a few messages, but who you are pleased to have met and whose memory you will cherish!

🇮🇹 Di recente ho recuperato queste due serie, molto diverse tra loro. 'The Paper' è lo spin-off del più famoso 'The Office' (che non ho mai visto ma che conosco di fama) ed è una comedy girata in stile documentario. Non proprio il mio genere (ecco spiegato perchè non ho mai visto la serie madre) ma… Domhnall Gleeson?! Sabrina Impacciatore?! Dovevo guardarlo! Il Toledo Truth-Teller è uno storico quotidiano locale che rischia la chiusura e per rilanciarlo viene assunto un nuovo capo-redattore. Al di là di personaggi e situazioni improbabili, è una serie che fa riflettere su come oggi la carta stampata e/o il giornalismo serio stia quasi scomparendo a causa dei supporti digitali e degli articoli acchiappa-click. Sono contenta che sia stato rinnovato! 'Sweetpea' invece è decisamente più sul mio genere e conoscevo già Ella Purnell (l'attrice protagonista) grazie a 'Yellowjackets' e 'Fallout'. E’ l’adattamento di un libro ed è incentrato su Rhiannon Lewis che, ignorata da tutti, si trasforma in una serial killer. Il pretesto permette alla serie di affrontare temi come il bullismo e le relazioni tossiche. Anche questa è stata rinnovata e ne sono contenta, anche perchè si è chiusa con un finale apertissimo! --- 🇬🇧 I recently caught up on these two very different series. 'The Paper' is a spin-off of the more famous 'The Office' (which I've never seen but am well-known for) and is a comedy shot in documentary style. Not really my genre (that explains why I've never seen the original series) but… Domhnall Gleeson?! Sabrina Impacciatore?! I had to watch it! The Toledo Truth-Teller is a historic local newspaper that's at risk of closure, and a new editor-in-chief is hired to relaunch it. Beyond the unlikely characters and situations, it's a series that makes you think about how print media and/or serious journalism are almost disappearing today due to digital media and clickbait articles. I'm glad it's been renewed! 'Sweetpea', on the other hand, is definitely more my genre, and I already knew Ella Purnell (the lead actress) from 'Yellowjackets' and 'Fallout'. It's an adaptation of a book and centers on Rhiannon Lewis, who, ignored by everyone, turns into a serial killer. This pretext allows the series to tackle themes like bullying and toxic relationships. This one has also been renewed, and I'm happy about it, especially because it ended with a very open ending!

🇮🇹 Alcune conclusioni (altre due, a tema San Patrizio, le posterò più in là). Molto contenta del risultato, anche meglio di quanto sperassi! Voglio fare diversi ricami a tema cucito da esporre nel mio angolo creativo <3 --- 🇬🇧 Some conclusions (I'll post two more, St. Patrick's Day-themed, later). Very happy with the result, even better than I hoped! I want to make several sewing-themed embroideries to display in my craft corner <3

🇮🇹 Una lenta domenica, tra dolcetti e progetti da finire <3 Ho fatto una sorta di plumcake al cacao, con gocce di cioccolato e zuccherini (utilizzando le stesse dosi che uso per i muffin), 10/10!! E domani finisco il terzo progetto della settimana, sperando che il risultato sia come quello che ho in mente :D (P.S. Queste forbici vintage sono le mie nuove forbici preferite!) --- 🇬🇧 A slow Sunday, between sweets and projects to finish <3 I made a sort of cocoa plumcake, with chocolate chips and sprinkles (using the same quantities I use for muffins), 10/10!! And tomorrow I'll finish the third project of the week, hoping the result will be like the one I have in mind :D (P.S. These vintage scissors are my new favorite scissors!)
