Not Merely To Survive [Closed]
Another night of painful wandering stuck in this costume of his. The wings really had fused to his back now, moving his arms too suddenly had grown painful now. Not only that, but the urges that had followed the physical mutations had gotten worse as well. It was overall a painful experience, something he most definitely didn’t wish on anyone.
Just when he wanted to turn back to his apartment and lock himself up, he was approached by a man with a most unusual air around him.
Well this was a déjà vu again, almost.
Another individual wearing a now familiar kind uniform. It was kind of like Saeki’s, but it was quite obvious that this man was of higher rank. His eyes, too, were piercing, bright, inhuman… This man was most definitely an underworld escort too. Quite amazing, how more and more of these demons were gathering in this city. Was it some kind of sign? Probably not. The scientists didn’t seem to care much about symbolism when picking their targets. It was not like the tengu would mention his knowledge and connections to the other anyway. No, he’d let it pass by, especially since the man seemed to have a few questions for him instead.
Who as Kenji to deny these questions, especially when he thought that this individual was going to be a decent person. These questions would probably pose as a good distraction from his hunger as well. It was a win-win situation: He’d have answers, and Kenji would have a distraction from his own mind.
“Well, of course. My humble self is very willing to answer any question that you might have. Although I must add that I am rather new as well, so some of this city’s inner workings are still unknown to me.”
He was hardly expecting anything special, just a slight intrigue into the setting itself. The world of humans wasn't terribly interesting to him. He was content with the world he had spent thousands of years in. What he did know, was that this was far from the norm of human traditions. There was no magic that humans possessed that could cause a situation like this. He was wondering if this was the default state of the city.
A nod came from the demon as the other explained that he was unfamiliar with the city himself. Eyes travelled to the wings for a moment before returning to the face of the 'possessed' being. A smile was still fixed on his lips, though the icey gaze didn't match in the slightest.
"That's fine, it's a rather simple question, just to sate my curiousity." Eyes looked around the city's unnatural appearance as if to give away the question he was about to ask. "I assume this isn't the city's default state, is that correct?"
Other questions were less important, and he could uncover the answers as needed, however the situation he was randomly thrust in on was something that was a higher priority than simply finding an escape from this haphazard city. Lodgings would be an important task, but those also could wait until he grew tired of wandering and gathering intel.
There was something else in the stranger's demeanor that brought about a few other questions. It looked like there was almost a recognition in the tengu's eyes. It would follow soon, but one question at a time would provide the best answers, and allow him time to store the required information, and discard the useless bits and pieces.
