I’m so torn about this Ariana grande news where she’s claiming touring drains her. Of course I believe her and feel for her about that but at the same time I can’t help but also think that she doesn’t like touring as part of being an artist and their job and she wants to see if she can whine her way out of doing it

@ anon this is so fucked. “she wants to see if she can whine her way out of doing it”? this girl has to go up on stage almost every night and sing songs about her recently-passed ex-boyfriend in arenas virtually identical to the one that was bombed during her concert two years ago. she relives trauma on stage every night and feels pressured to continue subjecting herself to that horror due to fear of disappointing people like you. even if touring was part of her job description (which it absolutely isn’t), our willingness to prioritize our concert experience over the mental health of a real live struggling human being is disgusting and shouldn’t just be accepted uncritically. i sincerely hope that you have never and will never experience tragedy comparable to what ariana has experienced and, further, that you never have to be subject to thousands of people saying you’re faking your way out of your responsibilities when you cry out for help.
