For Taylor, being liked was priority number one in the beginninng of her career, but as she became more succesful more people started to have different opinions on her music and her personality. Taylor being âtoo niceâ made critics assume she was holding onto a fake persona. Being good to people has always been her mindset ever since she was a little kid, growing up on a christmas three farm in Reading, Pennsylvania in the United States. People will always try to find a way to take you down when you are starting to become more succesful, because the truth is that we live in a take down society.
Around the summer of 2016 that became extra clear on Taylorâs part. She became the victim of being falsely occused of something based on lies. As I mentioned before we live in a take down society and people find it amusement in taking down succesful people. People that did not even care to look up the facts just got along in this hate train that was going on on social media. It made a huge impact on Taylor, which caused her to take a break from social media and the spotlight. Her entire belief system on needing validation from people changed and ruined her mental health to the point she had to disappear for a year. She was afraid to never come back to doing what she loves the most, making music.
Luckily, Miss Swift would not be Miss Swift if she did not make one of the most iconic comebacks in music history. With the release of her sixth album reputation she showed the world that having a certain reputation changes the way people look at you. You can chose to let that fake reputation ruin you or you can come back coming out of this situation stronger than ever. Taylor Swift sets a perfect example for people going through something like she went through. Something horrible does not have to defeat you, it can strengthen you instead.
The album titled, reputation, showed us an even more vulnerable side of Taylor then she has showed us in her previous albums. This time it did not include any break up songs, because Miss Swift found the love of her life despite the fact that her reputation had never been worse. This album basically tells the story on how she found true love inspite of having a bad reputation.
The reputation tour became the highest crossing American tour in history so I think it is safe to say that Taylor Swift is anything but irrelevant, like many claimed in the summer of 2016. Even after eleven years of being in this industry, Taylor has not faded to the background in the slightest way.. The reputation era has been the best era so far, mainly because she gained so much strength and confidence, the bond between her fans had never been stronger and she was in a healthy relationship. Taylor was doing so much better than ever again which resulted in so much happier and brighter themed album she put out in 2019, titled Lover. Taylor could not hold onto the reputation persona, because it was not who she is nor wanted to be. The lover era is exactly who she is. Taylor is nothing more than a bright soul, working as hard as she can to stay succesful in the music industry and the album, lover, perfectly reflects that. She is truly doing better than she ever was, indirectly caused by the break she took from the spotlight.
In conclusion, Taylor Swift is so much more than another mainstream pop girl in the music industry because frankly, she is the music industry. She is smart, a boss and an inspiration for so many upcoming artists and simple souls like me.
