Mutts: Prizefighter (2013)
This Chicago based piano rock band kicks so much ass I don't even know where to begin. A smooth three piece with keys and Tom Waits-esque vocals will give you a new but tasty flavor for your palate and this is probably one of their softest tunes yet. If you by happen to catch MUTTS live sometime be prepared for a hell of a show, awesome merch packages, and a desire for more, more, and more.

BSR Video Blog - #2: Mary Sweeney from Sweeney Photography (they do bands and do them phenomenally)!
Don’t you love it when people in the music business give you advice? I know we do! That’s why Alejandro from WMMH works with Band Smart Radio with Martin Atkins (a perk to that being videos like this)!
The lovely Mary Sweeney from Sweeney Photography talks about the benefits of really having some awesome stage presence, and treating your band as a business! The kick-ass band Sexy Ester plays in the background too with one of our favorite tracks "Glitter Baby".

Check out what Wisconsin professional Rökker Inker has to say about the benefits of giving away your music for free, working your "sphere of influence", and drinking responsibly! All while one of our favorite Sky Road Fly songs play in the background \m/

THE MENDED DEAD: Drag Me Out To Sea (2012) [strobe effect warning]
Here's a healthy dose of some underground metal. The Mended Dead has all of the right musicianship in all the right places, and this video really takes the cake as an example of awesome. This video uses a heavy strobe effect so you might want to be wary of that if you're sensitive to it. If you like what you hear, check out more of their music at: http://themendeddead.bandcamp.com/

Worth a read: INFURIATING THINGS SAID TO FEMALE MUSICIANS (Huffington Post, 2013)
When musician/blogger Steph Guthrie tweeted: "I'm blogging ridiculous/infuriating things folks have said to women who make music. Are you a woman musician? Tweet me choice quotes, or RT."
she got these responses. totally worth a read \m/

Our last video touched on a good amount of topics, and we received a huge response from our viewers wanting us to dive deeper into those topics. This one is about STAGE PERFORMANCE and we're bringing in kick-ass ska-punk master Chandon Vicarious from 4 ASPIRIN MORNING to chat about what he's seen make a live show a killer event. Our chat took a bit longer than expected but with oh so much good content, so expect this to be a two parter! Make sure to check out 4 Aspirin Morning at: http://www.4amband.com/ or http://the4am.bandcamp.com/ (to stream and/or purchase the album) And don't forget to share the link if you dig!
