WEMEN @ CANTIERI SONORI
Long way to go to hear a band that I waited from early summer.
The Wemen were exactly as I expected.
They start slow and come to the end sweaty wet,
but still with all the power to smash the heads of their listeners.
Carlo directs his team ahead to the end, with a musical climax that tells us a lot.
The festival cantieri sonori, has made an excellent choice in combining the evening along with Karenina,
thus giving us the ability to switch from one genre to another.
Nothing to say, really a nice evening, with the light and the right climate.
One of the few times where I had a really hard time choosing only ten photos to display.
So enjoy.

It's easter at my place It's hard to come of age I've got memoirs I've got regrets, the same way
Easter 2013, one year ago. It was raining, endless pouring rain that seemed the sun didn’t even existed. It’s raining the same way now, Easter 2014. Around me everything is familiar: no new furniture, nothing changed in interior geography. My parents are one year older; so am I.
We decided it was time to record our first album, but the band was living bad days. Something inside the four of us was not working properly, someone was driving the gray out of us. Music is about inspiration and energy, the opposite of negativity. In the theatre of my adolescence came this good-mood melody track, kind of a blast in a past I’ve never had (I was not listening to that kind of stuff in that period). Weird innit? Didn’t write it for me. It was for us.

Rock’n’Roll.

Yesterday in Vercelli was good. We had fun, unlike the day before in Rimini. It was like being back home. Glu Glu Club is a small one, packed of friends ready to cheer us up and having a blast. We are happy about that because we were going to perform a special farewell to a special guitar, the first Albè’s electric guitar. A made in Mexico Fender Telecaster, embellished with a paisley (underground) pickguard. The story goes like that: me and Alberto we used to play in this kind of Italian alternative rock band named Madama Dardo. Albè was living with his parents in the Vercelli region, and he switched from a silver Ibanez to this Tele. I like to think about it as a choosing of a battlefield: Joe Satriani out, Joe Strummer in. I didn’t owned that guitar neither I payed for it. I simply played it a lot. That’s why I’m glad to be the last to make it feedback. Bye bye TelePaisley, adventure companion; your last gig with Wemen was at your place. May your next owner play you with the same hunger, passion and poetic power as we did. Rock’n’roll.
