Nudibranch Pride Collection Day 2: Progress Pride and Miramira Flaviocostatum
This nudibranch comes in a lot of brilliant colors, similar to the colors of the progress pride flag!
The Progress pride flag has the colors of the original rainbow flag, but also includes the triangle stripes for transgender identities (blue, pink and white), as well as people of color (black and brown), the black stripe also represents people living with HIV/AIDS.
The Miramira Flaviocostatum is a larger species of nudibranch that lives off the coast of South-Eastern Japan and in other parts of the Indo-Pacific ocean. They can reach up to 70mm in length. They are categorized by their raised dorsal ridge that extends down their mid-torso. The name Flavicostatum means yellow ridge and is one of the biggest identifiers of the species.
