THE GREAT 1.06 – Parachute
Okay but Rhaenyra literally said "You've abandoned me", like she loved him so
viserys @ daemon: “you’re a plague sent to destroy me”
viserys @ rhaenyra: “you’re my political headache”
daemon and rhaenyra @ viserys: “we are married and we’re expecting a baby”
viserys:
Take me to Dragonstone and make me your wife.
How it started How it’s going
It's always "I love you" and never "we have always been meant to burn together"
Ok so first things first
Rhaenyra baby you’re doing amazing sweetheart, marry the shit out of your uncle
Jace beating the shit out of the little albino nugget, and Luke taking his eye out? Poetic cinema
Alicent needs to be put down bye
Daemon calling Otto a fat leech is also a 10
Laenor getting his gay wildest dreams fantasy
Poor Rhaenys and Corlys tho, lost both their kids at the same time
Someone please please cut Cristons throat, I beg of you
I WANT YOU
HOUSE OF THE DRAGON 1.05 We Light the Way
i will never get over these tfota parallels
jude at the beginning of tcp:
jude at the end of tqon:
It's always "I miss you" and never "my heart is buried with you in the strange soil of the mortal world, as it was drowned with you in the cold waters of the Undersea."
Different Dystopian Genres
While bored in class I broke down different dystopian genres. I added books that I thought fit in.
· Rebellious Dystopian
o When the protagonist is against the society from the beginning. They have always questioned what the society meant and what they do. It isn’t until they found someone else that they can rebel with (usually a whole thought out rebellion or a singular person who’s already thought it through). The society usually already has holes and is not “Perfect” as everyone believes
§ Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
§ Divergent by Veronica Roth
§ The Selection by Kiera Cass
§ Chemical Garden Trilogy by Lauren DeStefano
§ #Murdertrending by Gretchen McNeil
§ Imposters by Scott Westerfeld
§ The Young Elites by Marie Lu
§ The Glass Spare by Lauren DeStefano
§ Pawn by Aimee Carter
§ XVI by Julia Karr
§ The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
· This could also be considered Sci-fi but their society isn’t obsessed with technology (except it is). I don’t know I think it fits here the best
§ The Program by Suzanne Young
· “Perfect Society” Dystopian – I recognize this sounds redundant, but I think it’s the best title
o The protagonist is all for the society. They are excited for what the society stands for and what they are required to do. Until some accident happens where they are thrown into the rebellion. The protagonist finds the flaw and starts to fight against them, but it takes some convincing before they realize the society has bad execution.
§ Matched by Allie Condie
§ Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
§ Arc of Scythe Neal Shusterman
· This could be argued it’s only sci-fi dystopian but I see it as Citra agrees with society until she herself becomes a Scythe and realizes how wrong the society is, but at the same time she has secrets prior to being a Scythe but honestly I don’t remember it that’s why I am putting it here
§ Birthmarked by Caragh M. O’Brian
§ Eve by Anna Carey
§ Legend by Marie Lu
· This is a difficult one but because I remember June’s story more it gets put here. But because it’s a multiple protagonist with multiple POV’s who both have different views on the society so really its both.
§ The Bar Code Tattoo by Suzanne Weyn
· Sci-fi Dystopian – also a little redundant since dystopian is technically sci-fi although I don’t really believe that.
o Honestly this is pretty self-explainable. This is one of the bigger categories of dystopian where others fit into it. But this is where technology is more prominent than just basic society has evolved
§ Enders Game by Orson Scott Card
§ Maze Runner by James Dashner
· I don’t know necessarily where else to put this book but I think because the technology is what drives the society at least in the rest of the books besides the first one. The first one could be a stand alone without the others but to understand the first book you need the rest of them.
§ The fifth wave by Rick Yancey
· This is another one where I don’t know if this is where I would put it. But because its not a different society it’s aliens so I am going Sci-fi above anything else
§ Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
§ Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
this post is gold
I feel this in my soul
its letting them enter in your deepest thoughts and disires actually
