“Why would you eat frosting for lunch? It’s not healthy,” caeden said, confused. They shook their head, even though they loved salads, they would never take food from someone they didn’t know, “no thank you.”
“Because it’s a delicious, of course. And I’m not too bothered by eating healthy,” Wendy responded frankly. She raised an eyebrow at their response, setting the bowl back down again. “Are you sure? Because otherwise it’s probably going to end up in a trash can somewhere.”
TEEGAN TOOK A LOOK AT THE SALAD and —- sniffed it, before giving a look of disgust.
“are you tryin’ to poison me? you are, aren’t you?” the bouncing man accused.
“What? Of course not!” Wendy exclaimed, pulling the salad back toward her to inspect it. “I mean...not intentionally. Is this poison? That would explain why it was so disgusting. If it is poison...I may need a ride to a hospital because I took a bite of it.”
— alice eyed the salad warily, brows furrowing a little as she looked back at wendy. “ that’s a very sad looking salad, i don’t think i want it either. ” she said with a small laugh. the lettuce was wilted, croutons soggy, and the dressing job was skimpy. a true black dot on the caesar salad name. “ do you want some of my strawberries ? they’re probably much more satisfying. ”
Wendy could nearly feel herself sighing in relief as she nodded, shoving the salad away from the both of them. “Oh my gosh, yes please,” she said. “I need some type of sweetness to keep me alive today.”
“I tried to eat something that wasn’t leftover frosting for lunch today but--ugh,” Wendy sighed, holding the bowl of salad out to the person across from her. “Do you want this? I don’t understand how people can enjoy soggy lettuce with other vegetables piled on top. At least things like fruit salad make sense. This is just a bowl of disappointment.”
Christopher sat in silence as he tried to keep his focus on the book in his hands. He was using it to research on finding the right illustrations for a children’s book. It was interesting, but he kept finding himself distracted. Until there was a sudden noise that pulled his attention fully away from his readings. “Did you hear that?” He asked hoping that it wasn’t a figment of his imagination.
Wendy had been so immersed in the book in her own hands that nearly jumped from her chair when the person near her spoke. “God, you startled me,” she told him. Heart still pounding slightly, she turned to search for the source of the sound he mentioned, then turned back with a look of confusion on her face. “I didn’t hear a thing. What did it sound like?”
“Halloween was only yesterday and already everybody is excited for Christmas… Doesn’t it stress you out? It feels so close now, even though it’s still nearly two months away.”
“I think I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. On the one hand, I love Christmas with a fiery passion. On the other...a lot of people order specialty cakes for Christmas and I’m probably going to drown in red frosting. So...I guess mildly stressed, yes.”
that’s wendy deering walking down the street, the twenty-three year old, who looks like lucy hale. here in apple peak, they work as a cake decorator. some say she acts like wendy darling from peter pan, since she can be courageous, but also a little bit pushy.
Hello, hi there! I’m Cassie and I’ll be playing the charming little weirdo that is Wendy. Here are a couple of fast facts about her:
For the most part, Wendy’s home life was a decently happy one. The only real bleak spots were the occasions in which her father would lose control of his temper, but these instances became easy for Wendy to ignore as time went on.
Partially due to the unfortunate examples her father tended to set, Wendy held a bit of an aversion toward entering adulthood. It was her understanding that she would also become angry and occasionally unkind once she got older, so she didn’t want to do it at all. She grew out of this eventually and sunk into a bizarre mixture of nurturing and adventurous.
Basically, Wendy will climb the tallest tree in the world with you, but she’ll also be packing a first aid kit and some extra rope in a backpack just in case.
She has an insane sweet tooth, which is partially what contributed to her love of cake decoration. Baking cakes seemed too boring and laborious for her to consider, but decorating was the fun part (not to mention the amount of icing at her disposal).
Wendy has been known to get a little bossy from time to time. She’s typically under the impression that she’s the most well prepared out of anyone in any given situation and, if you disagree with her, she tends to get frustrated and argumentative.
The best way to describe Wendy would be a cross section between the mom friend and the firecracker. She’s always up for adventure and never shies away from a challenge, but she also doesn’t like diving into something she feels ill-prepared for.
Okay, that’s the essentials I have for now. I could write a mini novel about her, honestly. If anyone wants to set up any plots or connections or anything, shoot me a message!
