What is God's promise to me on Marriage??
I learned a new thing about prayer strange that it's new but anyways. It's that I have to pray scriptures I have to pray God's promises.
Unfortunately for me the only verse I have in memory is probably only Genesis 1:1. The rest I just know that God said something like this that somewhere in the word.
When I was praying for a husband I found myself asking but why should God give me a husband? Why do I really want to get married? This led me to ask is there a promise for marriage in the Bible?
I shamefully googled "God's promises on marriage" 🙈🙉 All I got were promises for people already married. Then I heard a soft whisper saying read the Story of Ruth. The conviction was really strong.
Things I learned about Ruth
- She didn't have any children with her first husband
- she was brave marrying a man from a strange country and then following Naomi out of her country. Then allowing to marry another foreign man. Offering to work with strangers in Naomi's country she could have easily feared that the women would never let her work.
-She was determined, determined to take care of Naomi, to fend for her she didn't sit home and wait for a man to come and provide for her. Ruth 1:18
- Her reputation preceded her, Boaz said everyone knows that you are virtuous.
-She did not sit home in sadness but went out doing the good she knew and that caused her to be noticed. If she hadn't gone out she wouldn't have attracted Boaz. Is what am doing everyday attractive?
- She was loyal not only to men but her mother in-law as well she was also obedient to specific instructions.
- She was patient waiting and staying with Naomi for almost 3 months without getting any man's attention. She endured the pain of loneliness
-she had faith, when she told Naomi that she would go with her if she didn't think there was any good where Naomi was going she never would have insisted on following. She had hope that though her husband from this woman died leaving her with no children God would still make another way for Naomi's people to be her people.
- She let Naomi take her Child as her own
- She was a woman that had married before and a foreigner but God still made a way for her to find a husband in Boaz.
-Naomi prayed for her that she should have a permanent home and the security of marriage and that she should be redeemed. Ruth1:8. I can pray for the blessing of security of marriage
-Ruth proposed to Boaz. You don't have to build a whole wall around yourself there's nothing wrong with showing green lights to a guy but you must be patient for him to do the right thing. Ruth 3:18
-Ruth was blessed by the people in the foreign land they prayed for her marriage
The next morning today's verse on you version was;
"Everything that people wrote in the Bible in past times is there to teach us something. Those words help us to be patient and strong. As a result, we can trust God to do what he has promised."
I can claim the blessing of security of marriage.
I can claim for a permanent home with a provider.
I can claim to have a family line and increased descendants
