Question 1: Do you want to go see Seventeen in Dallas?
Answer: Yes
5+1 for Jess @twinklingpaopufruit
Of course, we have to start on Tumblr.
I can’t find our first messages to each other but we really had a ball on this site. Random posts and memes sent to each other at god knows what time, and even this little gem, when I didn’t realize Tumblr had notifications:
Can you believe that we’ve known each other for 8 years now? It feels like our early twenties were just yesterday but also such a long time ago. We were both trying to establish ourselves—you were tutoring, trying to land a full time teaching job, and I was still studying for my license exam.
And now you're getting married!!!
Going through our Tumblr messages was bittersweet in a way. I don’t miss the anxiety of being young and unsure, but I miss how much time that allowed me to get to know you. I suppose that’s the beauty of youth. We jumped into life and into each other’s lives.
When we started chatting about seeing Seventeen together in Texas of all places, it was youth (and Seventeen) that made me take the leap.
I’ve never been the type to have online friends or meet with them in person yet, with you, it felt like the right next step. So I made the super not-stranger-danger decision to go to Texas with you after meeting in person once!
I said yes because I wanted to see where our friendship could lead. And it’s a decision I am grateful to have made.
"Do you want to go see Seventeen?" Now that’s a question that’s come up quite a few times over the years and well, you know the answer to that.
