“Oh..” Carter says with a slower nod, he only really knew 2 of the roles, but he was impressed nonetheless. “So you’re a singer too, huh?”

“These are some little sparks to be doing much of anything to big spiders, CJ.” Sadie smiled, “But magic does make it a little easier.”
“Oh c’mon, you’re telling me you didn’t do some damage to some big creepy crawlies?”

“That’d definitely change things. Are they a wolf too?”
“Nah.” Carter said immediately, shaking his head. “She’s not mine, not like that anyways. She’s from my Ex, but I’m that girls dad no matter what, you know?”
Carter had just come in after a run when he saw the booths in the lobby again. Those orange booths were starting to be a real annoyance in his life when he thought about it. He was sweaty and tired but he figured now was a better time than any. Now he could go upstairs and shower and ignore these for another 2 weeks. “Alright.’ The younger man huffed while closing the door. “I guess... I’ll go with that blondie. Nat. That’s her name, the master of disguise.”

✴︎ — “ I’m good at makeup. I wear a costume and makeup and pretend to be someone I’m not as my actual day job, so I think I kind of have to be one. ”
“So.... You’re some kinda performer?”

“But you also never said you weren’t.”

✴︎ — “ If it’s dark out and you drop in behind someone before killing them so they don’t actually see you, then they won’t necessarily know you’re the one who killed them. ”
“That’s not being a master of disguise though.. That’s being a creature of the night hella.”

“Me too, I got a kid to live for now.”

“What do you want me to pull them out of thin air? They’re probably in the library.” They were. Second editions, unabridged. Alex was very pleased. “I love puppies. Don’t be ashamed.”
“You gotta have some somewhere. Like. They gotta be somewhere where I can see them here. I mean, we probably won’t be friends after this place if we’re really honest.” He shrugs. “So it’s now or never.” A cheesy grin covers his lips and then fades. “I’m not a puppy. Not even close. That’s why I lock up every moon now.”
alexanderxchamberlain:
“I’m actually a gothic poetry writer. It’s true whether or not you think it is,” Alex grinned. “Awe, the puppy wants to play rough now?”
Carter’s eyes squinted slightly, his lips pursing for a moment before he finally accepted it as truth. “.. I gotta see the books or I’m still calling fake.” His eyes widened at the puppy comment. “I’m not a puppy, puppies don’t nearly kill people.”

Alex shrugged. “Fine, don’t. I didn’t want to gain fame for writing poems anyway, hence the alias.” Alex squinted at the bruise on Carter’s arm. He poked it. “Pretty sure you’re just a fucking wimp.”
“It could also just be a phoney name and story like I could actually be James Conner but we both know that’s a lie.” Carter said waving himself over if to show some innocence. He moved away slightly as Alex poked his bruise. “Uncool, man, I’m not a wimp. I’ll kick ass, I’ve just got a more human body than you do- and I’m like 30 so I’m still growing.”

“I had a couple of those issues a while back. More with alcohol than anything,” he said, biting his lip. “I’m sorry you went through that.”
“Man that shit’ll get you too.” Carter said while shaking his head. “I got myself into it, like- I was stupid. I gave it up for a good reason though.”
