What do you think Nia's fate will be once "Secret Six" ends? I actually wonder what will happen to Waller. Part of me hopes Jay puts an end to her, and if so, Nia's, perfect.
I wonder if the author is aware of how manipulative and gray she is writing Nia; at this point she seems more like an antihero turning into a villain than anything else. Is she aware of that?

I'm not so sure, honestly! I don't think Nia will be killed or shoved into the vault. I also don't think Waller is magically gonna go away either considering she's one of the most important villains in both the movies and the comic books. Do I like how much they've flanderized Waller's character over the years? Hell no, but I also don't think editorial cares much. At best, I think Waller will lose be forced to keep her mouth shut one way or another. Nia, I think, could either end up in a prison since she's immortal, OR she could end up escaping to another planet or time (like the future) if she ends up on the run after the comic book ends. I just don't think a character as interesting, fresh, and quite frankly as dynamic as Nia is gonna magically disappear from the canon any time soon. Plus, she's an elgibbityq. I really don't think they wanna turn on all the gay readers currently paying to read Secret Six. The market won't take too kindly to that (myself included) 😂

Eh, I don't really think most comic book writers are really aware of how their characters are perceived. Personally, I think Nia became an antihero all the way back in Suicide Squad: Dream Team, but that doesn't necessarily mean she's become one indefinitely. However, I do think Nicole Maines is actively making sure Nia isn't in some cookie cutter mold where she can do no wrong. Nia HAS to do dumb, immoral, thought-provoking shit because it's the only way to be dynamic enough for others writers to take on in the future. And I really do believe Maines wants her to succeed as a character after she retires from comics, versus letting Nia get fridged or vaulted once editorial gets bored and she moves onto brighter pastures. I personally despise comic book writers who don't enjoy others taking on their characters (faithfully, of course). I don't think Maines is one of those Chuck Dixon-esque weirdos who would crytype on Twitter if Nia ended up making out with a strange alien woman in 2035.
In addition, I don't think it's necessarily bad for Nia to become a villain down the line. In fact, I think that would be pretty cool. She has no reason to pretend like she's the world's greatest hero. She doesn't HAVE to be the world's greatest hero, and if that makes her a little more villainous and a bit more manipulative down the line, then so be it. It's great to have engaging villains.
