@noahthegardevoir look what you made me do

âOh.â Was all Trish could say. I mean that was definitely one way to meet someone. Then again, she had her own interesting moments. âGlad to hear you guys moved passed that.â She wondered if an unmasked Spider-Man could be at the party right nowâŚ
âItâs fine. She is green after all. Not all the time, but⌠you could try the Bugle? Iâm not sure if theyâre hiring, but if you ever do want to go back to paper, Iâm sure you meet the credentials for them.â She gave a reassuring smile. âAfter all who better to report about Spider-Man than a good pal of his?âÂ
"Yeah... â
Well, now you made things awkward.
âA bit much, I know... but hey, youâre a fellow reporter. Youâd probably find out anyway. Iâm a weird dude you met at a party full of vigilantes and their allies.â
Well, thatâs arrogant of you. She has better things to do than dig into random buffoons.
âThey seem to be the go to for all the Spidey sightings, donât they?â Eddie smirked, wondering why he hadnât really considered this as an option. He had figured Parker would prefer he kept his distance, that they steered clear of each other... but it was an interesting arrangement. Would he be up for it? Was asking for the exclusives any less unethical than selling photos of yourself? âThey may think thatâs a conflict of interest, but I can be unbiased... professional...â
Which is why you printed a story with bogus sources.
lastzenwhoberianâ:
âThen I suggest we end this conversation right now. You should pray that we never see each other again⌠But if you ever hurt someone else, I will find you. Do you understand?â
I like her. The way she doesnât take your shit.
Do you like how sheâs threatened to kill us?
I mean. No, but we kinda have it coming.
âWe understand. Canât promise we wonât hurt anyone, but weâll only hurt those who deserve it. If we have to. Thereâs no point fighting each other when thereâs crime afoot.â
Killing people. Killing people is a crime, V.
We will only do it to em to Bad People
[ eddie ooooohhhh-ing in the distance ]
lastzenwhoberianâ:Â
âMaybe I should just rip off your tongue and show you how I earned a certain reputation across the galaxy.â
"...you could, but we donât think you have anything to prove. Apologies for sassing you, mâam... and apologies for calling you mâam, that was on Eddie. The sass was on him too.â
You liar.
fightlikehellcatâ:
âYou know Spider-Man?â Trish wished she had just let that go but her curiosity got the best of her. Of course he didnât know the man behind the mask, who did? She wondered if Jessica might⌠the Avengers? âI know Jenn. Personally. Weâre good friends.â Trish couldnât help but add that in, a bit too excited that she was friends with She-Hulk. She could have added her sisterâs former heroics but⌠no one seemed to remember that.
âI have talk show on the radio. Trish Talk.â As if the signs werenât everywhere. Still it was nice to meet someone with a similar position. âAre you still a reporter?â She wondered if thatâs why he knew Spider-Man or where they met at least.Â
âYeah, heâs really the only costumed guy I do know. When he was just starting out, and there was a, uh, misunderstanding, that prompted me to uh... well, I broke the rules. Ihad a bad habit of going off-script and making accusations without substantiating evidence. I bet my career on a story, Spidey incidentally proved me wrong. Lost my job at the Globe. Weâre cool now, though. All good.â
Awkward story, but at least he was being somewhat honest. That was how he first encountered Parker. Spidey. They were one in the same, that was still so surreal.
âOh? Cool. Didnât mean to disrespect your good friend then, calling her the green lady... and Trish Talk, yeah, Iâve heard that. Now that you say it, I recognize the voice. I mean, I still consider myself a reporter, but right now Iâm... between jobs, trying to reestablish myself. Trying to figure out if I want to go back to a paper, or stick with broadcasting.â
Venom, literally every 4 fucking minutes: we should eat that guy
Eddie:
fightlikehellcatâ:
âOh.â That could be something like a friend of a client or a friend of a superhero. Would it be rude to askâŚ? Either way Trish was too distracted to even consider a follow up question. âAre you enjoying it? Iâve never been to a party like this before.â Trish felt it would be alright to confide in him. He seemed like a normal guy.
"Yeah, I mean... foodâs good, nice atmosphere.â Eddie gave a weak shrug and a smirk, relieved she didnât pry. âCanât say Iâve been to anything like it before either. Donât really know anyone, so thatâs a little awkward. I mean, I know one person... Spider-Man, but uh... I actually havenât seen him here. Then again, no oneâs wearing their costumes, so...â
Nice save Eddie, no one needs to know we know who he is under the mask.
âIâm from the city, but I actually spent the past few years in San Francisco. Had a show out there for a little bit... Iâm not an actor, I mean, Iâm a reporter. Eddie Brock.â
On my planet, I am kind of a loser, like you. But here, we could be more.

âYou target my loved ones and all bets are off the table.â His eyes narrowed under his mask a hint of steel in his voice.  There was one line that Peter would not allow anyone to cross.  He kept his secrets to keep his Aunt safe. To keep the people he cared about safe.  So few of those left in his life. Â
Peter inhaled and forced himself to relax. âYeah, you keep from killing and weâve got a truce.â  While he still felt extremely wary about the symbiote, he wanted to give Eddie a chance.  Any signs that the creature taking over he wouldnât hesitate to take them down.
âWhy did you come back here?â  Peter couldnât resist asking. Wanting to understand why risk this going so badly.
"We donât go after innocents. If your loved ones behave themselves, they wonât have anything to worry about.â Was that something to joke about? Probably not, but they did it anyway.
As for why they were back? That was something they had been asking each other, and had yet to come to a solid consensus on. Anne had moved on with Dan, and they respect that... and after the whole Kasady thing? âThere was nothing left for us back in San Francisco. All we have now is each other. Each of us were running away from our problems when we left New York, now that weâve returned... we can overcome them, better ourselves. Together.â
fightlikehellcatâ:
âOh⌠I didnât even think about that.â Trish let her thoughts drift before circling back. âWait, do you not know who Jenn is?â Clearly, he did but why would he refer to her as âthe green ladyâ which was a title that was a bit rude to begin with. He was probably someoneâs plus one.
You called the host âthe green ladyâ, idiot. Why would we be invited if she didnât know us?
You wanted the free food! This is your fault. Donât worry, weâll play it cool.
âNot personally, no. Sheâs sort of a friend of a friend.â Or sort of friend. If he had to, heâd lie and say Parker invited him. Did she know who that was, or...? How did the whole secret identity thing work among the hero crowd?
lastzenwhoberianâ:
[There was some truth in what it just said but no way she was letting him know he had a point]
âIâm just seeing a threat that needs to be neutralized. Despite what Eddie said, I doubt heâs okay with that. And you donât scare me at allâ
"Not even when we do this?â As the symbiote showed off their tongue, Eddie was mentally cussing it out. â...no, I donât imagine you would be. Some would probably say youâre even scarier. Fine. No neutralizing petty criminals, but when it comes to serious threats... well, weâll just save them for you, then. If innocents die in the meantime...â
