West Egg Social is as much of an experiment as a band. Blending content creation with music release the duo has begun recording their debut project, a multimedia album including demos, concert video, and behind the scene footage. Blending their electronic synth driven sound with lofi indie rock, West Egg Social brings an eclectic, theatrical, and energetic show across Colorado and to anyone who will listen online.

As someone who is completely unqualified here are somethings to note about the ongoing andes hantavirus.

1. There is currently no evidence of viral change with the Andes virus outbreak, this is a virus that has been documented and noted as potentially dangerous and this outbreak is following a very similar pattern to the Epuyén outbreak about a decade ago.

2. As of right now this isn’t a particularly large outbreak even for hantavirus standards, it’s not even the largest human-to-human outbreak of hantavirus or the Andes virus (the largest being the aforementioned epuyen outbreak in 2019).

3. The CDC and NIH are currently responding to the situation in accordance to the same policies that have dealt with- but the Center for research in emerging diseases which usually worked with hantavirus has had its budget slashed by the Trump admin.

4. This is the highest chance of a hantavirus pandemic we have ever seen. It is still not very likely as the close prolonged contact required to spread the disease makes it relatively easy to contain and track. Thag being said as it is so deadly a full pandemic would infect less individuals but still be incredibly scary .

5. And most importantly, unless you are on one of the response teams (in which case hats off to you !!) all you need to do is to continue to monitor the situation an the recommendations of professionals! There is no immediate danger, there is no need to panic right now. Continue to follow trusted sources (which is not most news sources or social media influencers as they make their money by keeping your attention on their fear mongering) and follow the facts! Don’t trust people who can’t back their claims up with sources, I have seen Twitter users formulate their own theories despite publicly published evidence in the contrary.

Take care of yourself and check in on your friends who might not be handling this news well because times can be rough!
