Maghu-Fuht are apparitions that appear in the fog of Luria's marshes and swamps. the ghostly figures appear only to individuals who dare to go off on their own. Some groups believe them to be premonitions, appearing to those who will soon be in great danger. Others see them as the danger themselves, luring unsuspecting people to their doom in the haze.

one of many 'pre-historic' species that once populated Luria's vast deserts. Considered to be an ancient ancestor to modern Lurians

Twiituk populate the rain forests, swamps, and marshes of the planet Luria. Using their claws and strong limbs, they dig burrows in the mud and soil. Their beaks are sharp and strong, allowing them to rip apart tough vegetation (bark, nuts, fruit), and tear into any carrion or small prey.

They are a bi-sex species, and are solitary except during mating season and rearing young. Males are identifiable by their taller tusks and loud, throaty territory calls.

Captain Estrella is the head of the dread ship Galatea, and her pirate crew. The six of them sail the ocean, getting into various nautical misadventures.

The crew of Captain Estrella (2024):

Aquaria - gold with inverse markings, she/her, Boatswain

Pisce - blue with irregular & unsymmetrical markings, he/him, First Mate and Quartermaster

Ursa - pale blue with dark dorsal & ventral markings, he/they, Master Gunner and ship musician

Scorpia - light green with pointed markings, she/her, Ship Carpenter & Mechanic

Sirius - teal with star-point markings, he/him, Cooper and Chef

Young Lurians are taught over and over throughout their lives to honor and respect the lives of the animals around them. Older family members will tell dark tales of lone hunters, those who think little of the creatures around them and kill with cruelty and greed.

One of these hunters is said to have killed the offspring of a Fulvionyx during a hunt. They killed the parent when it returned to the nest, skinning it and taking its hide.

Later that night, when their fellow hunters had gone to rest, they tried on the pelt. Under the red moon, they were transformed into a giant, bloodthirsty beast, killing their group as they slept.

populating Luria's saltwater oceans are Muraeni Gigantica, or Eelale. These gentle giants filter feed using their baleen and expandable mouths to scoop up plankton while they filter excess water out through their gills.

Crowned Saurvos are a species of quadrupedal, two-toed animals that inhabit the plains and forests of Luria. Using their large beaks, they cut the stems of fruit and foliage in their habitat. They get their name from the group of large feathers adorning their heads, which can be fluffed up in a threat or mating display.

Saurvos are a bi-sex species, living in small herds that comprise of a dominant male, several females, and young. The males fight using their sharp beaks, claws, and spurs. Males are called bucks, females are called does.

Young saurvos are called crias or fawns, and are covered with a white downy coat that gradually sheds as they age. Their eyes start blue and change to brown, hazel or green as they get older. Crowned saurvos like to nest, laying clutches of 1-3 large eggs on the ground in the early warm season.

While not fully domesticated, Lurians like to tame & raise them for use as companions and work animals. They are hardy and use their secondary nostrils to sense changes in air pressure and wind direction. Lem is an older crowned saurvo, he was owned by Stella's sister Helia before her and Orbis' disappearance.

Saurvos, along with Saurovians, Gulfilicans, and Flurahuse all descended from a common ancestor millions of years ago. Saurvos and Flurahuse are on a long separated branch from their flying cousins.

Dendroboge are fearsome beasts that lurks in the swamps of Luria. They have tough beaks and a dental pad instead of teeth on their bottom jaw, and a powerful bite. They are formidable beasts but are sometimes hunted for their meat and hide.

The Fulvionyx is a species of pursuit predator that lives in the deserts and some forests of Luria. The live in small packs, using their modified heat-sensing organs to enhance their jacobsons organ and smell prey from miles away.
